Twelve South, the maker of the BookBook and other fine case and accessories, has debuted a versatile MacBook stand called the GhostStand. The transparent apparatus suspends any MacBook model, and the name implies that you’re not supposed to even know it’s there.

The design is certainly striking. Each blade of the GhostStand is made of “double-inlaid, brushed metal rails lined with soft silicone” to protect your MacBook and desk.

“Sometimes it seems the nicest things are the most expensive, and the lower cost items are a bit short on style,” said Twelve South Creative Director Andrew Green. “With GhostStand, no compromise is necessary. It delivers a timeless, sculpture-like design along with a very competitive price. In fact, GhostStand just happens to be one of the lowest priced MacBook stands on the market.”

That price is $35, which is half the price of the HiRise MacBook stand that was announced by Twelve South last year.
