Just in time for the holidays is an impressive sleeve cover from Inateck that fits both the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and all 13.3-inch models of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Retina Display. It’s up to you which one you pick to keep close when you’re moseying around.

If you were quick to get on board with the iPad Pro, you’re probably loyal enough to Apple that you own a MacBook too. With this sleeve you don’t have to worry about swapping out cases and accessories when you have to choose just one to accompany you on your travels.

It gets better: the sleeve transforms into a stand that accommodates either the iPad or laptop. Made from synthetic felt, the sleeve manages to be multipurpose while also extremely affordable.

The sleeve is very soft to the touch but also seems pretty durable. The flap opens up to reveal several patches of velcro inside, the main pocket for inserting your MacBook or iPad and a smaller pocket for storing some accessories. The sleeve also has two other pockets with zippers on the back. These seem big enough to fit a mouse, some cables and perhaps a stylus — nothing too outlandish.

It turns out those velcro patches serve two different purposes. The first is to allow the front flap to bend back and create a stable, triangular mount for your iPad or yes, even your MacBook. The second is to then place the MacBook or iPad at your desired angle and prop it up without total collapse.

To my surprise, the case doesn’t just work well as a stand, it works extremely well. I didn’t think the materials would be enough to support the weight of my 13.3-inch MacBook Air, but I was dead wrong. In fact, it was pretty stable perched up on the Inateck sleeve and improved the ergonomics of typing while lifting the display up a bit. It works the same way for the iPad.

When you’re not using your MacBook or iPad Pro, the inside pocket is lined with flannel that should protect it from scratches. It’s nice and tight so my MacBook Air is very snug and I’m not concerned about an iPad Pro feeling loose at all. I am a little worried for people who want to switch out a MacBook and iPad that over time the MacBook may stretch the sleeve out, but even then the cover flap should keep it wrapped up anyway.

Interestingly enough, Inateck’s sleeve also comes with a small carrying case for a computer mouse or even most moderately sized smartphones. (My iPhone 6s just fits.) It’s easy to see it’s not as high quality as the sleeve itself, but for the purpose, it’ll do.

I’m pretty impressed overall with Inateck’s sleeve and carrying case for the MacBook Air, retina MacBook Pros and iPad Pro. What’s most exciting about it is the price: it’s only $21.99 on Amazon, which is super cheap given the quality and function this brings. It has a perfect 5-star average rating from buyers too. So if you need a new carrying case for your new iPad or your current MacBook, definitely consider Inateck’s strong offering.
