The iPad Air 2 may boast a more-than-adequate 2GB of RAM, but the newly announced iPad Pro is living up to its name with a massive 4GB.
In yesterday’s crowded keynote event it was inevitable Apple would fail to mention a few of the geekier spec details for its new devices, and its new giant-size iPad’s RAM was one of them.
Fortunately, Adobe answered the question in a press release — reassuring us that the iPad Pro is going to be every bit the multitasking beast we were hoping for.
As Adobe notes:
“During Apple’s keynote, we … demonstrated the extraordinary speed and precision of Adobe’s Creative Cloud mobile apps on Apple’s new iPad Pro. iPad Pro is great for creative workflows with a high res 12.9-inch touch screen display at 2732 x 2048 pixels, A9X chip, and 4GB RAM.”
Given that the iPhone 6s doubles the RAM of the iPhone 6 to bring it to an impressive 2GB, we wonder if that bodes well for a 4GB iPhone 7 next year?
Whatever the future holds, the iPad Pro is sounding more and more like it’s going to truly be the productivity powerhouse Apple is banking on.
Update: Adobe has since removed references to the iPad Pro’s RAM from its press release.
