Apple Pay is coming to the NBA: Apple

Apple Pay made its debut in Major League Baseball just in time for the world series. Now the NBA is about to get its first look at how Apple’s mobile wallet can speed up concession stand lines, as the Orlando Magic plan to be the first team to offer Apple Pay support.

Starting Friday December 19th, basketball fans coming to watch the Magic take on the Utah Jazze at the Amway Center will be able to use their iPhone 6, 6 Plus, or iPad Air to pay at food and beverages stands, as well as retail shops within the arena.

In this morning’s announcement of the Apple Pay addition, Magic CEO Alex Martins said the arena is partnering with Chase Bank and Levy Restaurants bring the wallet-free experience to fans.

“The Magic are committed to our fans and their experience and are continually looking for ways to innovate in order to make that experience legendary. We are thrilled…to be the first NBA team to integrate Apple Pay into its home venue and specifically the Amway Center, the most technologically advanced arena in North America.”

The Magic will add more Apple Pay locations throughout the season. They also plan to give at prizes and send special offers to patrons using a Chase card with Apple Pay.
