War Gets A Fresh Face In Clash Of Clans Follow-Up

Boom Beach

Finnish developer Supercell has a huge hit on its hands with Clash of Clans, and they’re releasing a brand new follow-up that looks surprisingly similar: Boom Beach.

In Clash of Clans, you build a base and defend it with your medieval warriors. You can also go out and attack other people’s bases.

In the trailer for Boom Beach, you might notice a familiar mechanic at work.

Yep, in Boom Beach, you’ll build a base, defend it, and attack other bases. This time, however, you’re on a tropical archipelago.

Looks like Supercell hopes to strike the same gold mine as before, as Clash of Clans recently reported $829 million in revenue.

Whether the team has built in some new mechanics or variants on the gameplay of Clash of Clans, we don’t know just yet. What we do know is that Boom Beach will be ready for your free download on Thursday in all major iTunes regions. It’s been available in the Canadian iTunes store since November for beta testing and the like, so if you’re a Canadian, you can grab it now.
