Adventures Travelog Syncs With Evernote

There’s a new option emerging for mobile apps that want to sync to the desktop: Evernote. No, Evernote isn’t new, but it’s fast becoming the service of choice for app developers who don’t want to develop a companion Mac app.

And the latest of these is Adventures for iPhone, an app which lets you save the places you’ve visited into a location-based journal.

Evernote actually seems perfect for this, as it already handles search and location pretty well. But the app works just fine without it. When you want to take a note you fire it up and the iPhone’s GPS offers a choice of spots, or you can just drop a pin yourself, or do a search after the fact.

Then you can add notes and snap photos, and then browse your recorded moments using the map or as a nice full-width column of photos.

It’s pretty neat, but it’s also yet another garden to tend. I already snap photos and add captions using Instagram, and I make notes in Twitter. That’s why I like an app like Momento for the iPhone, which pulls all of my sources into place. And the new “Activities” section in iOS 7’s Photos app might take care of this, too.

Adventures is available now for $2.
