hey guys a from Elijah Gadget Hunter
0:08
here CES
0:10
2014 here at uh a another Cool Tech show
0:14
I'm here with Larry py I'm at the eflow
0:17
booth and we're going to be talking
0:19
about bicycles because did you know that
0:22
those really powerful batteries that are
0:23
in your MacBook Pro are also in other
0:27
products like this really awesome
0:29
electric Hy hybrid bike and Larry you
0:32
were telling me a little bit about what
0:33
it can do and rather than me flub my way
0:36
through it can you tell us what's
0:37
special about these electric bikes sure
0:40
um e-flow electric bikes have uh really
0:43
a convergence of all kinds of cool
0:44
Technologies like the Battery Technology
0:46
you were mentioned um batteries have
0:49
gotten really good and reliable and have
0:51
a high rate of discharge so we can power
0:54
things like a highspeed electric bike
0:56
like the eow and a Tesla automobile I
1:00
saw a guy no joke ride uphill on one of
1:03
these things and I was trying to figure
1:05
out what was going on CU he was going so
1:07
fast there was no way a human could
1:09
power himself up a hill that fast so
1:11
tell us a little bit about how the how
1:14
the experience works when you're on one
1:15
of these and just driving versus driving
1:18
a normal bike sure well you know when
1:20
you're powering a normal bicycle it's
1:23
only human power that's going into
1:24
driving the rear wheel this is a true
1:27
hybrid so it combines human power with
1:30
electric power to give you the Boost you
1:32
need to sort of flatten out those those
1:34
Hills regardless of how steep they are
1:37
15% grade which is really really steep
1:40
makes it feel like you're on flat ground
1:43
it's really pretty remarkable so the
1:45
power kicks in and it basically
1:46
amplifies your human power to make you
1:49
go faster or to make it easier to go up
1:51
hills and stuff so it basically makes it
1:53
so that you can ride to work uh you can
1:55
ride farther distances and you're not
1:57
going to switch your ARS off as you
1:58
would on a normal bike yeah exactly so
2:01
you know practical for somebody that's
2:03
commuting or you know us older guys that
2:06
maybe haven't ridden a bike in a while
2:08
or put on some extra weight it's really
2:10
just a joy recreationally and actually
2:13
good for Fitness too because you're
2:14
getting uh some extracise you can really
2:16
regulate how much or how little you're
2:19
exerting so Larry uh I almost forgot to
2:21
ask you what's the battery life on one
2:23
of these and how fast can it go depends
2:25
how much assist you're using you can go
2:27
up to 50 miles if you're relatively flat
2:31
and you're using it at the lower assist
2:33
level but most people don't use it at
2:35
the lowest assist level and it'll go at
2:37
least 30 miles on a single charge and
2:40
speed top speed under law with motor
2:43
power only is 20 mph but if you're
2:46
adding human power you can get it going
2:49
28 close to 30 m an hour actually maybe
2:52
even going up a hill absolutely going up
2:55
a hill so if someone wanted to test
2:57
drive one of these they wanted to
2:58
purchase one where would they go well we
3:00
have dealers all over the country the
3:02
best way to uh check it out is go to our
3:04
website it's curry.com c i tech.com
3:10
there's a dealer locator go check one of
3:12
these out at your dealership take it for
3:14
a spin around the block that's all I'm
3:16
going to say I'm Aron Elijah Gadget
3:18
Hunter here at CES 2014 on the prow for
