0:05
hey everyone this is michael with cult
0:07
here and today i'm going to show you
0:08
siri and some of its new features and
0:11
adjustments as well as it running on the
0:13
ipad so here i have ios 6 and it's
0:15
running on here now as soon as i hold
0:16
down the home button you can see the
0:18
siri interface pop
0:20
up and you can see that it pops up over
0:22
on the side when it's rotated in
0:24
landscape and when it's rotated in
0:26
portrait mode it pops up once again
0:29
right above the home button but of
0:30
course in portrait mode and it's like a
0:33
small version of what you'd find on the
0:35
iphone and it just kind of sits down at
0:37
the bottom of the screen and you can
0:38
still see what's going on in the screen
0:40
so in addition to that there's a whole
0:41
bunch of updates to siri and what it can
0:44
do on ios 6 so for example now it can
0:47
tell me a lot about sports so if i hold
0:49
down the home button here what was the
0:52
score of the last giants game
0:54
so what it'll do here is it'll tell me
0:56
about the score of the last giants game
0:59
the giants lost to the rangers yesterday
1:02
the final score was 5 to zero now i'm
1:04
not much of a sports guy so i don't know
1:05
many uh sports figures but you can even
1:08
ask things like uh you know different
1:10
players height and you can
1:12
compare who is taller brett favre or
1:14
pton manning
1:19
pton manning is 6'5 so it gives you a
1:22
little bit of information about the
1:24
player and this is the same with
1:26
basketball football etc anything like
1:28
that you can say something like when is
1:31
the first nfl game of the season there
1:34
are no games on tap in the nfl so what
1:36
it'll do is it'll tell you when the
1:38
first game is assuming you're in the
1:40
football season but right now there's no
1:41
games obviously so it tells me there's
1:44
nothing but the point is that now you
1:46
can ask at these types of things so
1:47
there's a couple things you can do with
1:48
movies too you can ask like what
1:50
theaters what movies are playing at them
1:52
uh you can do rotten tomatoes reviews uh
1:54
you can also ask something like movie
1:57
trailer so i can ask
1:59
it movie trailer for
2:02
[Music]
2:07
prometheus so now here it gives me
2:10
information about prometheus there's the
2:11
rotten tomatoes score and i can watch
2:13
the trailer there's information about
2:15
the film it even understands some things
2:17
like who is the director of prometheus
2:21
[Music]
2:24
which movie
2:26
prometheus was directed by ridley scott
2:29
of course it knows about actors too what
2:31
movies did john malkovich star in
2:34
[Music]
2:37
i found quite a few movies with john
2:39
malkovich there's also new restaurant
2:42
functionality within siri so for
2:45
example what restaurants in certino
2:48
california serve hamburgers
2:50
[Music]
2:53
okay one of these burger restaurants is
2:56
in certino
2:58
so now if i select red robin i can view
3:00
information about it here it shows me
3:01
the reviews there's the hours there's
3:04
the phone number if i want to call it uh
3:06
it gives me the you know the price
3:08
ratings and all different things like
3:09
that siri can also tweet for you
3:14
tweet this is a test from the ipad
3:18
here's your
3:19
tweet ready to send it sure
3:24
[Music]
3:25
okay i sent your tweet
3:28
now the same goes for things like
3:30
facebook as well and another thing that
3:32
siri can now do is launch applications
3:34
which is pretty useful and the last new
3:36
thing siri can do is launch applications
3:38
so for example the last new thing that
3:40
siri can do is launch applications so
3:42
for example launch app
3:46
store and boom it launches app store
3:49
there you go so that's about all of the
3:52
new features with siri in ios 6 as well
3:54
as siri on the ipad and uh there'll be
3:57
