Zagg is updating two of its keyboard cases for the 2020 iPad Pro that debuts tomorrow. The Slim Book Go focuses more on portability, while the Rugged Book Go brings a bit additional protection to Apple’s latest high-end tablet.
This upcoming iPad Pro is identical to its predecessor in many ways, but is the first with dual camera lenses. It also includes a LiDAR 3D scanner, making it well suited for augmented reality applications. These additions increased the size of the “camera hump” forcing case makers to tweak the designs of their products.
Zagg Slim Book Go for 2020 iPad Pro
The Slim Book Go for the 2020 iPad Pro will come in two parts. One is a case for the tablet with a built-in kickstand and a holder for the Apple Pencil. The other section is removable and contains a backlit keyboard that communicates with the iPadOS device over Bluetooth. It can pair with the tablet and an iPhone, and easily switch between them.
Zagg didn’t extend the redesign of this case to include a trackpad, though many of its upcoming rivals will have one.
A version for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is $129.99. The one for the latest 11-inch tablet is $99.99.
Zagg Rugged Book Go for 2020 iPad Pro
The Rugged Book Go for the 2020 iPad Pro is very similar to the Slim Book Go, but offers more shielding for the tablet. Zagg says it’s suited for “catching up on a work project or letting the kids watch a video.”
It also has a removable Bluetooth keyboard and an Apple Pencil holder. There’s no trackpad, though.
Both the 12.9-inch and 11-inch version of the Rugged Book Go are $149.99.
Apple doesn’t warn accessory makers about design changes, so Zagg found out about the larger camera hump in the next iPad at the same time as everyone else. That’s why the updated versions of both the Slim Book Go and Rugged Book Go are marked as “coming soon.”
