A photo of an unremarkable egg has dethroned model and influencer Kylie Jenner for the most-liked post of all time on Instagram.

The egg popped up on Jan. 4 through an anonymous user who made it clear the egg was gunning for Jenner.

The creator of @world_record_egg egged on the community with this caption: “Let’s set a world record together and the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.”

The brown farm egg against a white background has more than 33 million likes and 1.3 million comments as of this afternoon.

Jenner set the record after posting a picture last February of her new-born daughter, Stormi.

“While doing dry January, I was sitting at home reading an article online about the top 20 Instagram posts of 2018,” the anonymous Instagrammer said in an email to ABC News affiliate in Houston. “I thought it would be an interesting experiment to try and beat the record with something as basic as possible.

“I guess it’s also a comment on celebrity culture and how fragile and easily cracked it is (pun intended). But really, I just thought it would be funny if something as simple as an egg could take the crown.”

In a video response on Instagram, Jenner breaks her own record (and one brown egg) with more than 21 million views of her cracking an egg on the ground. The caption read: “Take that little egg.”
