Chase credit card holders can now redeem reward points to cover some or all the cost of Apple products.

Spending money to save money — which is how credit card rewards programs work — isn’t always the best way to pay for expensive gadgets. Still, those who are already Chase card members shouldn’t waste their points.

“We are thrilled to provide another option to instantly redeem points for the things our cardmembers love, including Apple’s newest products” said Lisa Walker, Managing Director Ultimate Rewards and Loyalty Solutions.

The new Apple Ultimate Rewards Store is open to Chase Sapphire, Freedom and Ink cardmembers. Collecting reward points requires buying items with one of these credit cards.

The company is making a limited time offer in which one Ultimate Rewards point is equal to one cent, so 100 points can be redeemed for one dollar on eligible Apple merchandise. This means it costs at least 39,900 points to buy the new Apple Watch Series 4 or an iPad mini 4. A whopping 99,900 points are required for the new iPhone XS 64GB.
