Mmm coffee. I start my day with a triple Americano that I make at home (Nespresso FTW), but weekends I often make a pot of coffee. Maybe a nice French press pot or the classic auto-drip. There is one thing for sure, you can’t make a good pot of coffee if the coffee you buy is crap.

Regardless. Matt’s tips on brewing better coffee at home are just bang on. The best one, besides using a French press for more flavorful coffee, is to let the water cool down to 200°F from the boil at 212°F. Seems like a really nit-picky thing, but one morning when I had the time I tried it and it made a huge difference in the brew! Smoother, no harsh bitter tastes.
Of course I was using decent coffee for that pot.
Folks, life is too short to drink crappy coffee, invest in good coffee and mornings will be better.
