Here’s a new exercise workout tip courtesy of Motorola: next time you’re considering buying that 8,000 calorie heart attack on a bun, instead layout your cash on an iPod Nano clone that costs $100 more than the real thing. You’ll surely work up a sweat kicking yourself for buying that new MotoACTV watch.

The cell phone maker did a bit of bait-and-switch on tech reporters, who arrived at a New York City press conference expecting Motorola to unveil the Android-based Droid Spyder. Instead, the company introduced the Android-based MotoACTV, a watch powered by a 600MHz cpu and weighing just 35 grams. The watch includes GPS and a music player that serves as an exercise coach, playing that tunes that it knows pushes you hardest.

Sounds very similar to the iPod nano update Apple unveiled earlier this month. The iPod nano has built-in Nike+ software that monitors your exercise routine, noting your progress and even tracking you step-by-step. Additionally, the new 1.5-inch Nano offers 16 different watch faces, including the popular Mickie (or Minnie) Mouse. However, one thing the iPod doesn’t offer is Motorola’s price tag. The Apple device costs just $129 for the 8GB version and $149 for the 16GB version. That’s compared to $249.99 for the 8GB MotoACTV or 16GB version for $299.99.
