Forgotten iPod Loaded with Child Porno Leads to Arrest

33-year-old Jason Daniel Goodman left his iPod Touch behind at an Oregon gas station almost a year ago. Employees figured something that valuable would be claimed, so they waited five months.

When no one came back for it, one of them took the iPod home – and found it loaded with child pornography. The employee’s wife recharged the Touch and was so stunned by the graphic sexual images — 1,400 pornographic pics including some with children as young as six —  that she turned the device over to police.

The crime lab traced the iPod to Goodman (was ever a name possibly less accurate?), got a search warrant and seized his laptop, flash drives and modems and took him to jail.  His other devices are currently under analysis at the crime lab.

Described by the tabloids as a “portly perv” and “Family Man Peter Griffin Lookalike,” Goodman is being held on $200,000 bail.

This isn’t the first time that iPod’s large storage capacity and big screen have led to arrests in child pornography cases – apparently the temptation to have it handy wins out over common sense.
