Belkin’s a big name in accessories, and you’ve probably got at least a few of their iPod or iPhone cases floating around your house. Today they’re expanding their line-up for the iPad with two new offerings: the Grip 360 + Stand and the FlipBlade.

The Grip 360 is an all-in-one accessory that can be used in three configurations: as a carrying case, a handheld case and as a stand. On the back is a flexible hand strap that makes the iPad easier to hold one-handed; the strap titularly rotates 360 degrees depending on which configuration you want to hold your iPad in, or removed entirely. It sells for $69.99.

The FlipBlade is a bit different: it’s a compact support for the iPad that allows you to prop your tablet up in either of its orientations, and which folds up for easy traveling. The design’s nice, but at $29.99, seems a bit overpriced for something a cheap plastic business card holder will do with more portability for less than a buck.

I always thought the original Nintendo Famicom controller lost its allure when it made its way to the United States in 1986 as the joypad for the NES, so I’m glad to see the Famicom controller’s classic design live again, this time as a polycarbonate case for the iPhone 4. Gorgeous.

Probably since I can no longer cram one into my pockets along with my house keys ever since I donated my parachute pants to charity, I haven’t found Apple’s notebooks to be nearly as prone to scratches as the iPhone. Your mileage may well vary, though, so rest assured that Zagg’s invisibleSHIELD line of protective coatings are now available in sizes suitable for sticking on a new 11- or 13-inch MacBook Air.

id America’s Gasket series of brushed aluminum cases for the iPhone 4 aren’t available yet, but I can’t wait until they are: the bronze colored case, in particular, is just a few glued-on wristwatch cogs away from a thorough steampunking.

In the meantime, we’ll have to wait, but the Gasket cases should cost just $30 when they’re made available, and id America promises that they will provide owners with “perfect fitment.” You can’t put a price on that, can you?

That was quick. An 11-inch sleeve for the MBA was announced from Tom Bihn yesterday, while Waterfield released a whole slew of cases tailored to both version of the MBA.

San Francisco-based Waterfield Designs offerings will ship at the end of this month and include the tough, ballistic nylon SleeveCase in both 11- and 13-inch sizes (at $37 and $39 respectively), which can be customized with add-on options; and the ultra-thin 11-inch ($25) and 13-inch ($29) Suede Jacket Sleeve. and will ship at the end of October. Tom Bihn has made an 11-inch, MBA-specific version of its Cache padded sleeve ($30), which will ship a little later than the Waterfields, in early November.

We’ve posted before about Karas Kustom’s line of iPhone 4 cases, which are sort of metallic girder structures to reinforce your iPhone 4’s fragile front and back plates while keeping your skin from directly contacting the antenna.

We liked them, but some of you gagpuked in the comments about their look, in which case… maybe Karas Kustom’s new range of colors will help sway you? Their iPhone 4 cases now come in silver, black, nlue, red, green, violet, orange, gold and pink anodize… and if you’re willing to pay a little more (well, more than twice as much, really) you can get your Karas case in copper, brass and phenolic, which Karas brags is “three times heavier than the original aluminum cases and will form a natural patina from normal use.”

“Heavier” and “patina” are two words I never thought a company making iPhone cases would be using braggingly in their press release, but there you go. The aluminum cases are the same price as they ever were at $39, but if you want one of the copper or brass cases, expect to pay $89 for your trouble.

Last time we heard about the iControlPad, the long-delayed physical gamepad for the iPhone and iPod Touch had finally completed its two-and-a-half year journey from the brainpan of its makers to their hands as the very first model dropped off the production lines… now boasting a modular design that would allow the iControlPad to be easily updated to support future iOS handhelds. Since the official site was about to start taking preorders for the first 3,000 units, we imagined that the iControlPad was pretty much done.

Apparently not, though. As fallout to Cupertino’s recent decision to sue Sanho for using repurposed MagSafe adapters and iPod Dock Connectors in their line of HyperMac batteries, the iControlPad team has apparently gotten nervous about connecting the gamepad through the iPhone’s dock connector. Instead, they are looking to switch over to Bluetooth support.

Just a friendly reminder: if you fancy a free case or bumper for your iPhone 4, today is your last day that Uncle Steve is going to make it easy for you to get one.

Yup. Today, September 30th, is the day that Apple’s free iPhone 4 case program comes to a close, making getting a bumper to wrap around your attenuation-prone iPhone 4 antenna as easy as downloading an app and waiting (quite) a few weeks delivery.

Having for many years a George Costanza wallet wreaking all sorts of lumbar havok upon my coccyx and spine, I now favor svelteness of pocket: anything that isn’t my iPhone, a small wad of bills, a couple cards and my keys is simply too much.

I think I’m in love with this ingenious, minimalist iPhone 4 case by TRTL BOT: it seems like it was made just for me, fusing a standard attenuation-reducing iPhone 4 case with a slim pocket for up to three cards and a small fold of cash.

Speaking of small folds of cash, it only costs $30, and if you’re still on an iPhone 3G or 3GS, TRTL BOT sells a similar case for $5 less. Go get one: Jerry Seinfeld would approve.

We’re not sure what’s stopped you from already buying yourself an iPad case if you planned on getting one at all, but perhaps Kensington’s PowerBack case can finally get you to whisk out the credit card: not only does it have one of those kickstands all the cool cases are flaunting these days for handsfree media watching, but it comes infused with a slim 4400mAh battery that will juice your iPad for an extra five hours. It’s available now for just $129.99.

All good things must come to an end, and now that Apple has largely put the fires out on the public relations nightmare of Antennagate, they’ll be ending their free iPhone 4 case program come September 30th… unless you complain loud enough.

Says Apple:

We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought. A small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case, and we want to continue providing them a Bumper case for free. For everyone else, we are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30, 2010. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case.

Of course, given how backed up Apple is sending out free cases, even if you order one now, you’re not likely to have a bumper around your iPhone before next year. Perhaps that’s the bigger takeaway from Apple’s decision to end the program: if you’re really having problems with your iPhone 4’s reception, you couldn’t afford to wait for Apple to finally get around to sending you one anyway.

Morphie’s venerable line of iPhone-charging Juice Packs were bound to get an update with the new iPhone 4 redesign, we’re just surprise it’s taken them this long. All’s well that ends well, though: Morphie has just announced their next-generation Juice Pack for the iPhone 4, doubling your handset’s battery life while slightly expanding your iPhone’s waistline.

The Juice Pack comes in the form of a hard-shell case, shielding the edges from accidental death-gripping and protecting the glass back from accidental shattering. Inside is a highly condensed lithium-ion battery that Morphie says will give you an additional six hours of 3G talktime, 12 hours of 2G talktime, 36 hours of audio playback or 9 hours of video. You can see how your Juice Pack is keeping up thanks to a handy power gauge on the bottom of the device, and if you’re worried the case will obscure your iPhone 4’s clear sound, Morphie even claims the case will act “as a virtual speaker box.”

Seek shelter for your iPod Nano with a case made from a recycled cassette tape.

These one-of-a-kinds cost $45 each, with a $5 rebate for viral marketing. Only about a dozen are left.

They’re from Contexture Design in Vancouver, the smart folks behind cases made from old 45s for iPods. Those have already disappeared faster than mini-bruschettas at a press conference, however.

Contexture’s Nathan Lee told us the 45 iPod classic cases were a limited edition project and that they don’t plan in cranking out any more.

So get these while you can. Similar cases for newer Nanos to come, so keep an eye out.
