Apple events are like the Super Bowl for nerds if the Super Bowl happened two to four times a year
0:06
The best way to watch is to watch it live, but you have a lot of options. Let me walk you through them
0:13
Number one, if you're watching on a computer like I used to do secretly at work, just go to
0:17
apple.com. On event day it'll take over the whole home page. After the fact you can just look for a
0:23
link that says watch the keynote or you can just go to apple.com slash apple events where you can
0:27
see all of the old keynotes. Number two, from any device you can always go to the YouTube live stream
0:33
The watch page is usually up a few days in advance so you can bookmark it or leave it open until the
0:38
event starts. Of course it's available anywhere YouTube is available, but it's actually not my
0:43
preferred way to watch the event. The YouTube live stream is usually a little bit behind Apple's own
0:48
and I don't really like the YouTube interface as much as some of the others. Like for example
0:52
number three, the Apple TV app. This is by far the best way to watch it on your television at home
0:58
and you don't need an Apple TV box to do it. Any modern smart TV, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Panasonic
1:05
etc. Any modern Roku, Amazon Fire TV stick, even a PlayStation and Xbox can all get the Apple TV app
1:14
A full list of compatible TVs and game consoles will be in a link in the video description. Now
1:18
the next two tips are specific to WWDC, Apple's biggest software event in June. Now odds are if
1:25
you're watching a Cult of Mac video on how to watch Apple events, you probably already have an
1:30
iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV of some kind. Download the free Apple Developer app and you can watch
1:36
the live stream keynote without an unreliable crashy web browser right in the app and all of
1:42
the subsequent session videos, the platform State of the Union will all appear right there in one
1:47
convenient spot. Finally, you might have been invited to watch the keynote in person at Apple
1:52
Park. I myself went in 2022. You can find an article full of pictures and videos of what the experience
1:58
was like in the video description. Basically to watch the keynote, you just need to decide where
2:03
you want to sit, outside on the lawn or inside in Cafe Max. If you're sitting outside, you'll be
2:09
closer to the stage where Tim Cook and Craig Federighi will make an appearance, so you'll be
2:12
able to see them and take pictures if you want. Just remember to put on the sunscreen they gave
2:16
you because it's a long event in the sun, whereas inside you'll be sitting in the shade and the air
2:21
conditioning, and if you're sitting next to some Apple engineers, you might have some interesting
2:25
conversations. Now you can read all the news every day at cultofmac.com, subscribe to this YouTube
