Hey, what's up guys, Stephen Cult of Mac here, and in this video, I'm
0:04
unboxing the just-released Beats X headphones. So, let's get started. And here they are, the Beats X earphones with their eight-hour bachelor life
0:17
On the side of the box, we've got the beats by Dr. Dre logo, and on the other side
0:21
there's a quote from the man himself reading, people aren't hearing all the music
0:26
Very nice. On the back, there's a list of all of the features, there's blue
0:29
Bluetooth, up to eight hours battery, fast fuel charging, so five minutes of charge equals two hours of play
0:36
It'll be interesting to test that out. It also comes with removable wingtips for a more secure fit, a flex form cable, and you can control the music and manage calls
0:46
These cost me £130 on the UK, and they retail for $150 in the States
0:51
So let's open these up. There's a little tab here at the bottom. Just pull that off
0:57
Then I can just lift them straight up. Underneath the actual earphones, there's extra earbuds and wingtips
1:07
Let's move the box to one side. Starting with the earbuds themselves let just pull them straight out Not the smoothest dumb unboxing The air buds are a little bit smaller than I expected they nice and compact And they got their magnetic connection to keep them together when you wearing them around your neck
1:31
Here's the lightning port when they need charging. And the play pause buttons as well as the volume controls
1:43
To the other card for a minute, if we flip it over, there's the little black lightning cable
1:50
which plugged straight into the earbuds themselves like so. And also a little black carrying case made of what feels like silicone. It's a bit dusty
2:06
So it's just this kind of clamshell style case with a little cutout
2:10
No matter which of the four colours of earbuds you pick up, the case is always going to be black
2:15
which is a little bit of a shame, as it would have been nice if they all matched. But the embossed logo on the front is a nice touch
2:22
Flipping the card back over, and we'll have a quick look at those inserts. There's three sets of standard buds, so they should fit anyone's ears
2:30
and these add-on wing tips in two different sizes, which are handy to use during workouts
2:35
Let slide them back in for now Also inside I guessing it the standard paperwork A nice little three month free subscription to Apple Music Even if you already a subscriber which is nice
2:47
A Quick Start guide. A beat sticker and the usual warranty info
2:55
Back to the earphones though, and they look really nice with that glossy beats logo on the back
3:00
The little buds themselves just pull straight off if you need to change them for any of them other inserts
3:04
the inserts. As I mentioned, they come in four different colours which are blue, white, grey and the black eye have here
3:14
The controls are simple enough. The centre button plays and pauses music or answers and ends phone calls
3:20
with a single press. A double press will skip songs and a long press will activate Siri. Then there's
3:25
volume up and down buttons I decide. So I guess the next thing I should do is to actually try them out
3:30
So when you turn them on, you'll find a little LED flashing and your iPhone will automatically connect just as it does with the AirPods
3:39
So all of those click connect. Already connected. Let's go to my playlist and try them out
3:47
So there's no actual indicator which is left or right. The easiest way is to see the angle of the earbuds
3:58
So immediately it snug fit It can stop quite a lot of sound around me so I shouting and I apologise So my first initial thoughts is that they very loud
4:21
I'm surprised just how loud they are. I'd definitely say they're louder than the new AirPods that have come out
4:26
and there's awesome a lot more base just as initial thoughts obviously I'll go into more depth when I come to do the review
4:32
but I don't even know if you can tell through this I've only ever really tried
4:39
beats products in stores where I can electronic stores over here and I've never really found them
4:45
I've never really rated the quality of them compared to someone like Bose or Senheiser
4:50
I've always preferred those brands that aren't quite as cool but first initial thoughts
4:55
I'm really impressed with the sound of them. I only listened to them for a couple of minutes so far
5:00
but I'm really impressed overall. Well, it's it for this video, but if you enjoyed it
5:04
go ahead and hit that like button. It really does help us out. And if you'd like to hear my full thoughts
5:08
on the beats X after I play with them for a few days, make sure to hit that subscribe button
5:12
so you don't miss my full review. I'll catch you in the next one
