Tom Gerhardt and Dan Provost formed Studio Neat after a successful Kickstarter campaign funded a simplistic iPhone tripod mount that conveniently doubled as a stand. That was back when the iPhone 4 was Apple’s latest. The smartphone landscape has changed quite a bit since then, and now the Glif has too.

Studio Neat has updated the Glif to make it adjustable. “The Glif will work with practically any smartphone, with or without a case,” reads the product’s description. “Use the included hex key to fit the Glif to your phone. Once sized to your phone, you won’t need to make any additional adjustments. The Glif will fit devices between 58.4–86.4mm wide and 3.1–12.7mm thick.”

If you’ve got a truly massive phone, like the Samsung Galaxy Note, the Glif obviously won’t fit. (But if you have a Note, why are you reading Cult of Mac?) It also won’t work with bulky cases, so you probably won’t be able to fit your iPhone in it with an Otterbox on. But for normal cases, the Glif should be able to adjust just fine.

The Glif costs $30 and ships within 1-2 weeks, so just in time for the holidays.
