Transformer-for-iPod-200x250 Have you maxed-out your iPod or iPhone storage? We all likely have a good chunk of the 16GB or 80GB storage still free. Why not put that empty room to use by turning it into backup space? That’s the idea behind Storage Appliance Corporation’s Clickfree Transformer for iPhone and iPod, a device that copies data from your computer’s hard drive to your MP3 player or phone.

“My 80GB iPod has 40GB of music and photos – it still has over 40GB of unused storage. Now I can maximize the extra storage by backing up my work and home computers. These Transformers are an inexpensive way to effortlessly backup your computers using devices you already own,” said Storage Appliance Corporation CEO, Bryan McLeod in a statement.

The $49.99 device won’t overwrite your existing iPod or iPhone data and requires no software – just plug and go. The unit is also touted as a way to transfer data to new iPods, eliminating the “orphan” fate of older Apple MP3 players.
