I've officially spent a full week with the iPhone SE, which has now convinced me to keep in favour of 6 Plus. But how can such a tiny phone be better?

Hey what's up guys, Steve with Cult of Mac here and in today's video I'm going to explain
0:04
to you why I'm getting rid of my iPhone 6 Plus and keeping the iPhone SE
0:10
Let's get started. So I originally bought the iPhone SE with the intention of reviewing and then returning it
0:17
I wasn't planning on keeping it at all, I was happy with my iPhone 6 Plus, I've been
0:21
using it for a year and a half since the release day and I've loved using the large 5.5 inch
0:25
display for watching videos, reading articles on and I couldn't be happier with it
0:31
And then I got the iPhone SE in my hands, I hadn't realised how much I missed the form
0:35
factor of the iPhone 5. Since owning the iPhone 6 Plus and 6S I have had the opportunity to play with the 5S since
0:42
and I've always felt the screen size is now too small for me, I couldn't type on it, I
0:47
thought I'm never going back to a small phone. But after 2 or 3 hours of use I started to fall in love with the iPhone SE
0:53
I loved the fact I could hold the iPhone SE in one hand, I could text, I could reach
0:57
the bottom to the top of the phone without contorting my hand and I love the fact I can
1:01
fit this into my pocket with no problems. I mean a lot of the times I forget it's actually there
1:06
One of the other things I love about the iPhone SE is just how snappy it is
1:10
I didn't think the iPhone 6 Plus was particularly slow but when I put them side by side and
1:14
just open up things like web pages or load YouTube videos or play games I can really
1:19
see the difference. As you can see from the benchmark test there's quite a difference in the speed and power
1:23
With the iPhone SE clocking in a benchmark score of over 123,000 with the 6 Plus just
1:29
missing 83,500. So now whenever I pick up the 6 Plus I find it to be absolutely huge
1:35
The SE has all the sizes I need to read my emails, reply to texts, calls, everything
1:41
I need to do on my iPhone I can do. If I need a bigger screen I can switch over to my iPad Pro or the iPad Mini
1:47
I've got all the other options there and it will actually force me to start using them again
1:52
Also the iPhone SE's camera coming in at 12 megapixels is greatly improved over the
1:55
6 Plus's 8 megapixel camera. Also the SE can shoot 4K. I also find it a lot easier taking photos with the iPhone SE over the 6 Plus because
2:05
obviously the iPhone 6 Plus has got those rounded edges and it's just easier to get
2:08
a grip of the iPhone SE. On top of all of that I find the iPhone SE's battery lasts me a whole lot longer than the
2:14
6 Plus. I mean I've been using the 6 Plus all morning, it's now half 2 at the time of filming this
2:20
and it's still on 65%. Whereas if I'd been using my 6 Plus all morning it'd probably be somewhere between 35 and 40%
2:28
So I can actually get a full days use out of the iPhone SE whereas my 6 Plus would normally clock out at about 7 o'clock
2:34
Also one of the main factors convincing me to get rid of the iPhone 6 Plus now is because
2:38
it's still worth a decent amount of money. Here in the UK I can get about £430 for it which works out to be $605
2:46
So it automatically pays for my iPhone SE and it puts a little bit of money towards
2:50
the iPad Pro which I recently purchased also. But if I waited to sell my iPhone 6 Plus until September, which is when the iPhone 7 is rumoured
2:57
to be announced and released, I'd end up getting a lot less cash from my iPhone 6 Plus
3:02
So it makes sense to me to sell it sooner rather than later. But I've noticed my iPhone 6 Plus is starting to die on me
3:08
I mean I have used it a hell of a lot in the year and a half that I've had it but the battery
3:12
would give up on me when it's still got 10-15% left, the mute switch doesn't always work
3:17
or it'll start flickering in between them and generally it's just starting to show its
3:21
age so I want to make sure I get rid of it before it completely dies out. But let's hope whatever company I sell this to don't see this video
3:28
Well there you have it, there's all my reasons for getting rid of the iPhone 6 Plus in favour
3:32
of the SE. But let me know in the comments down below if you've upgraded to the SE and let me know
3:36
what you've switched from. Also if you enjoyed this video, go ahead and smash that like button as it really does help
