Hey what's up guys, Stephen Gould of Mac here and this is the Big Magic Box Bluetooth
0:05
speaker from D-Nite. It may not be particularly large in size, but it's big on performance
0:10
It's also low on price, currently selling on Amazon for less than $60. At that price
0:15
I wasn't expecting a lot, especially for a small speaker from a brand I've never heard
0:19
of. The speaker itself is really compact, making it perfect for throwing into a bag
0:24
and taking wherever you may need it. It's cylindrical design has clearly been influenced
0:28
by many other portable speakers on the market such as the JBL Flip 2 and UE Boom. Made of
0:34
rubber and metal, it feels sturdy enough to take a little bit of a beating whilst being
0:37
carried from place to place. It feels like a solid product, but I think the design is
0:42
a little bit bland and could be lost in a sea of more interesting looking speakers
0:47
On top, there are buttons that let you answer or decline phone calls, adjust the volume
0:51
pause or play tracks and skip to next or previous songs. Down on one end, there's a power button
0:56
that lifts up to reveal the charging port and a reset button. Whilst on the other
1:01
there's an output for the bass port. Setting up the Big Magic Box speaker is straightforward
1:05
and thanks to Bluetooth 4.0, it gives it a really reliable connection. But how does it
1:10
sound? Well, surprisingly good. For the size and price of the Big Magic Box, I wasn't expecting
1:16
a lot, but it packs a decent amount of bass and volume, with very little distortion when
1:21
cranking it to the max. A pair of 10W drivers allow the speaker to handle a wider range
1:25
of frequencies at a louder volume. It definitely sounds more expensive than its $60 price tag
1:31
Because of its shape, you'd assume that you'd be able to position the speaker any which way, thinking that the speakers would be either side, creating a 360 degree dome of sound
1:39
Unfortunately, that's not the case. Both of the drivers are located on one side, so you
1:43
want to make sure they're facing outwards, which you can figure out thanks to the D-Nite tag at the bottom. Or you can stand the speaker up, where I found it's best to have the subwoofer
1:50
facing upwards for a fuller sound. A built-in microphone lets the Big Magic Box act as a
1:55
speakerphone. When I was testing this feature out, I could hear whoever I was talking to
1:59
perfectly, with people on the other end of the line reporting that my voice sounded crystal
2:03
clear. The Big Magic Box houses a 4000mAh battery, which means it's good to go for around
2:09
12 hours of continuous use, depending on the volume of course. Overall, I'm super impressed at how well the Big Magic Box performs, especially at its
2:17
$60 price point. It may not be the most interesting to look at, but it delivers plenty of volume
2:22
to fill a medium-sized BBQ at an affordable price. If you'd like to pick up one of these
2:26
awesome little speakers, you'll find the link in the description down below. Also, if you enjoyed this video, go ahead and hit that like button, and don't forget
