Are You Curious About Windows 8? Here’s a Little Peek [Gallery]

Above shows me moving through the new interface with widgets on the left and pinned application favorites on the right. All of these were the defaults that shipped with Windows 8. I wasn’t able to get any of the widget to work. I’ve heard this might have been due to the virtual machines inability to use graphics properly. I couldn’t install the Parallels Tools app because I’ve seen reports that it ruins the Windows 8 installation. Parallels will fix this problem eventually.

As I continued scrolling to the right more items appeared representing apps or widgets, but none of these would launch. At this point it was clear to me that scrolling inside of the virtual machine wasn’t completely compatible with Windows 8 so I was missing a few features that I’ve seen reported.

I think that I might need to install this in boot camp or on a real PC to really get the full experience. Of course Parallels could fix that in a future release of their product.

The images above and below contain tiles representing apps that I wasn’t able to launch.
