Londoners stuck in the tube now have a handy iPhone app to request ticket refunds.
Tube Refund, which costs $0.99, zaps off the request for riders whose journey is delayed over 15 minutes.
Depending on where you go and what time of day, a one-way tube ticket can cost from £1.80 to £4.00 ($2.75 – $6 circa) [...]

What’s Next For the iPad? A Tabletop iPad, According to Xerox PARC Circa 1991

Way back in 1991, just as Apple was transitioning from 68k to PowerPC chips, the braniacs at Xerox PARC were predicting it’s entire iPod, iPhone and iPad strategy. And next up for the iPad is a blackboard-sized device.
Nearly 20 years ago, just as personal desktop computers were taking off, researchers at Xerox started thinking about [...]

Early Apple Employees Auction Killer Collectibles

If there’s a good thing about the recession, it seems to be bringing some fine Apple memorabilia out of storerooms and closets.
Cliff and Dick Huston — ex-Apple engineers, for the record employees 27 and 25 — have decided to part with a treasure trove of Cupertino collectibles by auctioning them on eBay.

Mac Running 200 Apps Makes a Picture of ‘Busy’

This could get ugly. Seems there’s a bit of a competition going on out there over how many apps one can get running simultaneously, as reported by Gizmodo.

Last spring, some guy reported running 150 on a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro,, which was quickly challenged by some clown running 108 on Vista (huh?).

Now, we get the new champ, whose mark has been set on a 20-inch 2007 iMac, with a 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo and 4 Gigabytes of RAM. Makes for a kind of interesting showcase for Exposé, I guess.

How about you? How many apps do you run simulataneously on your Mac?

I’m impressed, especially as one of the Apps is Google Earth.

Wow, I want a dock like that :D

About 10 years ago someone had a post on a bulletin board about running over 1,000 applications on OS/2 on a 486 computer.

I used to use OS/2 (and in some ways still like it better than OS X) and considering everything I did on it the claim was very reasonable.

Heck, I feel guilty if I’m running more than five.

Safari, OmniGraffle, Preview, TextEdit, Mail, Grab, SnapZ, trial to InDesign and PhotoShop on a G4 Sawtooth is the best I can do.

i cant unfortunately upload the image to flickr and it keep the native resolution, the image is too big and even the “large” is hugely down sampled

if somebody can upload a larger image (premium account?) then i can email it to them

(machine limited me to no more apps with an error code, + i could not screen shot with out quitting one app — it just did nothing)
