Over the course of the last week, Apple has began reaching out to current MacBook Air owners on what they’d like to see in future versions of their tiny miracle of a laptop.
The survey covered all the bases when it comes to improvements. It asked how users made use of the USB ports, whether or not they used external disc drives or web-based file storage and syncing, and what they thought of how the function keys were arranged on the keyboard.
Most interestingly, the survey spent a great deal of time asking users about their 3G usage… a line of questioning that at least implies Apple would like to make future MacBook Airs 3G-compatible.
As an extremely happy MacBook Air customer myself, the prospect of built-in 3G is enticing. The 11-inch MacBook Air is already the perfect blogger’s machine, hobbled only by its reliance upon WiFi or the lugging about of a portable hotspot. If Apple could simply slide a 3G slot into future Airs, that would earn them my upgrade, right there.
