Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook came away Thursday the big winner among a number of Apple executives who cashed-in company stock.

One day after Apple stock granted to four top company executives vested, the 1.1 million shares were sold during a day of record-high trading in the Cupertino, Calif. firm.

For Cook, who recently was awarded $17 million in stock options and $5 million in cash, Thursday was a big day. The 300,000 shares, worth $72.01 per share when granted, sold yesterday at $230 per share. The outcome: a $68,8 million windfall for Cook before taxes.

Three other top Apple officers sold shares. Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer sold 200,000 shares worth $45.98 million. Retail senior vice-president Ron Johnson sold 200,000 worth $45.95 million. Marketing senior vice-president Phil Schiller sold 150,000 shares worth $34.47 million.
