What's going on everybody, Ian here for Cult of Mac
0:09
And if you guys are anything like me, you love having photos for your contacts in your
0:14
contacts list on your iPhone, so that when somebody calls or sends you a text, there's
0:18
a profile picture there. Also, if you're like me, you haven't done a very good job of updating those since you
0:23
set them years ago. That's where Vignette comes in. Vignette is this awesome iPhone utility app developed by Casey Liss that allows you to
0:33
quickly search against Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or email address to find contact
0:38
photos for the people in your contacts list. And using the app is dead simple
0:44
On each contact record, if there's an email address, a Facebook profile, a Twitter handle
0:49
or an Instagram handle, Vignette will search against those services for profile images
0:54
that you can then use as the contact photo in your contacts list
0:59
Once it finishes searching for results, you can simply choose which contact photo for
1:03
which person you want and hit update. Even better, contacts that come back with multiple results will allow you to choose
1:12
which image you like best, meaning that you can tap in and see a Twitter, an Instagram
1:18
a Facebook, and a Gravatar image and choose which one is most befitting to that person
1:23
in your mind. Vignette is a free app in the App Store, and the free version of the app allows you to
1:27
preview all of the changes that would happen in your contacts list
1:32
This gives you a really good idea of how many contacts are actually going to get updated
1:35
how many contacts it found matches for. For $4.99, you can unlock unlimited contact updates, which allows you to actually submit
1:44
the changes based on the things that were found on those different profiles for your
1:49
contacts list. For me, the app actually inspired me to make some updates to my contacts list, adding things
1:55
like Twitter accounts and Instagram handles to some of my friends and family that I know
2:00
have those accounts, but I've never put that information onto their contact card
2:04
By doing it this way, now I have contact photos with those users and better information inside
2:10
of my contacts list. Like I said before, Vignette is a super smart concept, but it's also downright simple to use
2:19
It's free to try and find out how much it could make a difference for your contacts list
2:25
For me, it found about 31 people initially, and then as I've gone through and added more
2:29
Instagram and Twitter handles, it's continued to find more and more people, as well as a
2:34
couple people who have changed their contact image in the last couple days. Vignette's the kind of app that everybody should try out and get some value out of
2:41
so I'll leave a link down below in the description to the App Store for it
2:45
While you're down there, leave me a comment and tell me some other great iPhone utilities that you've enjoyed or you found super helpful
2:50
Give the video a thumbs up if you think this is a brilliant concept
2:54
Share the video with any of your friends or family members who may need some help updating
2:59
their contact images, and I guess you're supposed to hit that bell if you want to be notified
3:02
about videos on the channel. I'm Ian for Cult of Mac, and I'll catch you guys in the next one
