Hey what's up guys, Stephen Colt of Mac here and today I'm going to be showing you
0:07
some of my favourite products under $100 that I've come across in the last month, including
0:11
everything you need to bring wireless charging to your iPhone without waiting or upgrading
0:15
to the iPhone 8. But before that, let's kick things off with some awesome headphones
0:20
These are the NoonTech Hamo TV Wireless Headphones. They're designed to be set up with a TV, which is how I've been using them, but you
0:26
could set these up with your Mac or PC if you wanted, or even your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth
0:31
Right off the bat, the design is slick enough for them to be sitting out on display, and thankfully they come with a stocking station, which also acts as a charger for the headphones
0:38
as well as a connection to the TV. The headphones are super lightweight and also comfortable thanks to the over-ear muffs
0:45
making them suitable for wearing for hours on end. I've been using these to catch up on Netflix shows or when I'm playing on my PS4 and
0:51
don't want to disturb my daughter, whose bedroom is next to my home office. They'll work up to 10 metres and last for around 50 hours of use, which is pretty accurate
0:59
so far. The sound quality of the headphones has really surprised me, they're really accurate and
1:03
clear and thankfully they're always in sync. They're also resistant to RF interference and have minimal static
1:10
If there is one drawback with them, it's that they don't go quite as loud as I'd like
1:13
Now these are slightly over the $100 target price, currently being listed at $119 on Amazon
1:18
but if you shop around and check every few days, they do show up for $100
1:24
From there, let's jump to the products I mentioned in my intro, which will transform your iPhone
1:27
into being able to charge wirelessly. Here we have the Qi Charging Stand from Expedia
1:33
Expedia is a brand I've covered a fair bit on the channel. From the iPad stand, I get tons of comments on and I also took a look at a prototype version
1:40
of this charging stand back in April last year. The Qi charging stand paired with one of its charging cases, which I'll come back to in
1:46
a minute, allow you to add wireless charging to any iPhone thanks to the built in magnets
1:50
on the stand and the case itself. As well as charging the phone, it's a really nice way of displaying your iPhone with its
1:55
reverse iMac style foot, and keeps the phone at a perfect viewing angle to glance at notifications
2:00
or take FaceTime calls. It comes in three different colours, silver, black and the rose gold I have here, and will
2:06
charge your iPhone from 0% to 75% within 80 minutes. As I mentioned though, this solution requires the iPhone to be in a compatible case
2:15
These are available for the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, all of which have a magnet on
2:20
the back to make it really easy to dock and undock. So unlike some Android phones that have wireless charging, you don't have to worry about placing
2:26
these down on the right spot. On the bottom, there's still access to a lightning port, so if you need to charge with a standard
2:31
lightning cable, that's no problem, and the case also offers a decent amount of protection
2:35
to the phone, with large cutouts for the buttons and camera. Despite all of the tech built into this case, it's still very nice and slim, so there's
2:42
no issues trying to slip it into my jean pockets and it still feels thin in the hand
2:46
Plus I used to have a very similar case to this also from XVIDA for my iPhone 5 and SE
2:51
which was just magnetic, but I love the grippy yet soft texture of their cases
2:56
To go along with these, you could also pick up an extra wireless mountable pad for an additional $55 to dock your phone to a wall, table or any metallic surfaces
3:03
There's an adhesive magnet which sticks to your surface and then the dock attaches to that
3:08
Plus, all of these charging docks are future proof and will work with XVIDA's cases in the future, the iPhone 8 and so on
3:16
Last but not least, I wanted to bring some light to my favourite smart light brand, and nope, it's not Philips
3:21
LIFX, which started life as a Kickstarter campaign over 5 years ago, offers a wide range
3:25
of smart light bulbs starting at just $37.50. The ones I personally own are the LIFX Z, which retails for just under $90, and you
3:33
can see these in most of my videos which light up my desk, and the A19 Smart LED Light Bulb
3:38
which is currently in my daughter's playroom. LIFX lights are really easy to set up, pairing through wifi and then connecting to your home
3:44
network, then you can control brightness, colour, themes and even animations. Being able to dim the lights from my iPhone is still something I love after years of having
3:52
LIFX bulbs. In terms of how they fare against Philips Hue bulbs, they tend to be slightly less expensive
3:57
than the Philips, so you're able to kit out your home more easily, and if you go in for
4:01
the coloured bulbs, they produce brighter and more saturated colours. Plus, the app is super easy to use and is updating often with new themes and features
4:09
For example, they recently added the move feature which animates the LIFX Z light strips
4:13
so they cycle through colours. If you're in the market to upgrade to smart light bulbs, I'd definitely go for the LIFX
4:21
