Battery cases and battery packs are unfortunately a necessity for anyone who, like me, is paranoid
0:05
about when their iPhone is going to die. Battery packs are great as I can connect them when needed, but then I've got to try and
0:11
find somewhere for both my device and the battery pack. Battery cases on the other hand are awesome thanks to being in one package, but then you're
0:19
stuck with the bulk. Why hasn't anyone thought of combining the two
0:23
Well accessory maker Moshi finally has. This is the Moshi Ion iGlaze case for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
0:31
Essentially it's a battery pack that you can slide on and off of it's compatible series of iGlaze cases, giving you the best of both worlds
0:37
The convenience of a battery case and the choice of a battery pack
0:41
With there being two parts to this case, let's take a look at them individually
0:45
Starting with the Moshi iGlaze case. There's a few types of iGlaze cases, the ones I have here are the included Ion case and
0:51
iGlaze Nappa. But most of the iGlaze cases will work with the battery pack
0:55
The included Ion case comes in two colours, this grey colour I have here as well as a
0:59
black variant. Moshi describe the finish on this case as brushed titanium, but it feels a lot softer
1:05
while still being rigid enough to protect my iPhone. The Nappa on the other hand goes down the more premium luxury route of leather, which
1:12
again comes in a variety of colours and looks and feels great
1:16
Both styles offer great protection to my iPhone and both have rubber around the inside to
1:21
help ease the phone in during installation. Plus it adds a bit of extra durability in the event of a drop
1:27
This cut out is for the mute switch, speaker grill, lightning port and headphone jack
1:30
With the volume rocker and lock switch being completely protected by some hard plastics
1:35
Inside the cases it's got this nice microfiber type of feel to protect my iPhone from scratches
1:39
when taking the case on and off. But now to the main event, the battery pack itself
1:45
Installation to the case couldn't be easier, simply slide the phone into the pack and it will click into place
1:50
Securing itself with the circle cut out on the back. Once in, the phone is completely secure no matter how much I shake the case
1:56
The battery pack is made out of the same hard plastic as the Ion case itself and it does
2:01
add a decent amount of heft and bulk. Adding around 4.5 ounces of extra weight
2:06
But this isn't a deal breaker as of course you can attach and detach the battery pack
2:09
whenever necessary. On the back of the pack there's a little indicator to let you know how much juice the
2:14
case has left. With a 2750 mAh battery, the battery pack can hold around 2 full charges for my iPhone 6s
2:22
Plus it takes less than 2 hours for a full charge, which is a lot quicker than some of
2:26
the other battery cases I've tried in the past. Overall this is a great case and the perfect solution to eliminate the cons of the separate
2:33
battery cases and battery packs. Combining the two gives you all of the convenience without any of the downfalls
2:39
I can charge my iPhone with the iGlaze Ion at any time, wherever I am in just a few hours
2:44
And be reassured that my iPhone isn't going to die on me when I need it the most
2:49
