Apple’s “Let Loose” Event

Here are all the details of the iPads

that Apple just announced. The iPad Air that sits in the middle of the iPad lineup

at $599 has been updated with the M2 chip. It's up to 50% faster than the previous model

This is a desktop class computer chip that now sits in a consumer level iPad for the first time

There's also a new 13 inch iPad Air available at $799. Both models support the Magic Keyboard

which they snap into magnetically to add a laptop style keyboard and track pad

and the Apple Pencil, which now has hover support that shows you what the stylus is gonna do

before you tap it on the screen. But the real star of the show is the updated iPad Pro

which now have tandem OLED displays. These are two display panels stacked on top of each other

for much deeper blacks and brighter, powerful popping colors. Compared to the iPad Air with the M2

the iPad Pro gets the brand new M4 chip. This chip has a CPU that's 50% faster

and a GPU that's four times faster with hardware accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing

The neural engine, which powers AI and machine learning features, is more powerful than any other neural processing unit

in any other PC chip. All the new iPads move the camera to the horizontal edge

because most people use their iPads in landscape with a keyboard and track pad

The new Apple Pencil Pro has a hidden button you can click to switch between colors or tools or palettes

rotation support so you can spin it to get a different angle on the brush you're using

and it supports Find My, so you can find it if you lose it on your desk

The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro has also been redesigned. It's now finished in aluminum, just like a MacBook

and the iPad sits farther back, so you have room for a bigger track pad

and function keys on top. Both have been redesigned to be dramatically thinner and lighter

The iPad Pro is Apple's thinnest product ever. Now, if you don't have $1,000 or $1,300 to drop

you can also get the basic iPad, which is now $100 cheaper at just $349

Now, there are a few cool software updates too. Final Cut Pro will support multi-cam video recording

so you can have up to four iPhones connected, and from the iPad, you can manually adjust the focus

white balance, and record live, switching between them directly into your Final Cut timeline

They have a new app for iPhone called Final Cut Camera. This goes above and beyond the regular camera app

with fine-tuned manual controls. It'll be available for free later this spring

There's also a really cool feature coming to Logic Pro, which is their audio editing app, called StemSplitter

You can drag a single MP3 file or voice memo into Logic

and using StemSplitter, you can split it up into vocals, bass, drums, and other instruments

So with one tap, you can instantly remove the vocals, isolate them, change the mix, all done on-device

thanks to the power of Apple Silicon. So those are all the coolest announcements
