hi this is Rob for Cult of Mac today
0:18
we're going to talk about Champs
0:19
Battlegrounds from Quark Games it's our
0:21
iOS game of the week it's a fascinating
0:24
little mashup of Chess and a multiplayer
0:27
online battle arena or MOA and we can't
0:30
seem to get enough of playing

in Champs Battlegrounds you'll pit your
1:43
six Heroes against six enemy Heroes
1:46
aiming to be the first one to a certain
1:47
number of points in this earlier
1:50
tutorial which you're watching here
1:52
you'll need to get six kills or points
1:54
in order to claim victory each Hero has
1:57
his or her unique set of movements and
1:59
combats skills and it's this delightful
2:01
mix of strategy and realtime chaos that
2:04
hits all the right notes for a mobile

2:53
the music is suitably epic the
2:55
animations are smooth and the
2:57
Battleground is easily rotated and
2:59
zoomed in on with with standard iPad
3:06
gestures as you continue to play the
3:08
strategies get deeper due to the
3:10
addition of ever more powerful Heroes to
3:12
the enemy roster you're able to purchase
3:14
your own more powerful heroes in the
3:16
store using either the earned blue
3:18
currency or the earned Andor purchased
3:20
red currency Champs Battlegrounds is
3:23
free to play but not egregiously so and
3:25
you're given enough at the start of the
3:27
game to customize your army early on

[Music]
3:39
overall Champs Battlegrounds is a fun
3:42
easy to get into but hard to master
3:44
realtime strategy game that definitely
3:46
struck our fancy this week prompting us
3:49
to call it the iOS game of the week I'm
