Hey what's up guys, Steve from Cult of Mac here and as you may have guessed from the title I am switching up the office that I used for all of these videos

If you're a regular subscriber or viewer, firstly thank you very much but you may also be thinking it looks exactly the same

Well you'd be right as I've actually moved house but I've been filming all of my videos here for the past 2 or 3 weeks whilst I set the new office up

So let's roll the intro, get started and I'll give you a tour of the new office

Okay and welcome to Cult of Mac 2.0, well actually I think this is about my 5th office since running the channel but let me know in the comments section down below what you think of the new intro and the updated logo

My good friend James O'Connell was kind enough to update the iconic head logo, I'll leave a link to his website in the description down below

But he's an amazing illustrator and designer and just generally makes everything look beautiful

I love the new logo and it's clean look, so much so I had to put it on a t-shirt

Nice, right. While I was planning to give you a tour of the new office, it's still not quite ready, there's a few things left to do

But I wanted to take a quick minute to tell you about the changes I have planned for future videos and to give you guys a chance to tell me what you'd like to see

For the past 2 or 3 months I've felt like my videos have gotten a little bit stale, maybe I've been on autopilot a little, but a lot of the videos started to feel the same

So I wanted to jazz them up and bring some new life into them. The first way is obviously by updating the office, which I've tried to design with filming videos in mind

Bringing in different textures, thinking about lighting and so on. Hopefully you guys like what you see so far with these little glimpses

But as well as the new office, I'm going to be trying to make the videos as cinematic as possible

Now I'm not a cinematographer or cameraman by trade, but I have learnt a lot over the past few years and I've been investing in some new toys to help get some interesting new shots

On top of that, I'm going to be switching up the editing style a little bit and I'm going to be switching from the standard 16x9 ratio

Bezel-less phones like the iPhone X are getting more popular and with their taller aspect ratio, if you zoom in on YouTube videos, you tend to clip off the top and bottom of the videos

So I'm going to be editing them in an aspect ratio that lends itself to help with that, so you won't be missing out on any of my framing

And if you're watching them on a TV or computer, it just looks more cinematic

I'm also going to try and vary the types of videos that I make and get into a routine where I make the videos ahead of time, so that uploads are more consistent

I'm also going to try and film outside of the office a bit more for different types of videos and bring in some talented people to collaborate with for tutorials and reviews

So basically, I'm declaring that over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to try and step up my video game as we start to reach that 100k subscriber milestone and just generally refresh the videos
