The long-running ‘Shot on iPhone’ ad campaign by Apple got a big update with eight incredible new videos spots featuring clips from unique locations all across the globe.

Bees, dogs, penguins and even a giant hippo star in the new video ads that were published today. The short clips highlight the iPhone’s video recording features like Slo-Mo and Timelapse while other shots are played in slow-mo. What makes the ads great is the simplicity of each show accompanied by awesome indie jams like “Chocolate (Milk Version)” by Jesse Rose & Trozé.

Tim Cook gets sacked by Twitter for blurry Super Bowl photo

Apple didn’t shell out for a super-expensive Super Bowl commercial last night, but CEO Tim Cook still managed to bring tons of attention to the iPhone — just not in the way he intended.

Celebrating the Bronco’s ugly victory over the Panthers last night, Cook tweeted a picture of the post-game festivities from the 20 yard line. It’s a position millions of people would’ve died to be in, but the only thing Twitter seemed to care about was how horribly blurry Tim’s photo turned out, leading to a flood of “shot on iPhone” jokes.

Apple is bringing back its popular ‘Shot on iPhone’ advertising campaign that won several awards in 2015, only this year instead of using pictures of scenic landscapes and city life, the company is changing the focus by using only portrait photos.

Apple’s crowdsourced “Shot on iPhone” ad campaign has been described as a “game changer” by Cannes Outdoor Lions jury president Juan Carlos Ortiz, but — let’s face it — most of the videos we shoot daily on our iPhones aren’t the kind of artistic masterpieces Apple chooses to highlight.

With that in mind, Elite Daily has put together a hilarious compilation of “honest” iPhone 6 ads, which are a bit closer to reality for most folks. Check them out below:

Apple’s crowdsourced “Shot on iPhone” ad campaign’s not just a hit with customers — it’s raking in plaudits from the pros as well.

The iPhone campaign and its accompanying “World Gallery” picked up the top prize at the Outdoor Lions competition at Cannes, with jury president Juan Carlos Ortiz describing it as “not just a great idea, [but] a game-changer.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Apple’s ‘Shot on iPhone 6’ TV ads are utterly charming

Apple's latest iPhone 6 ads pay homage to a world of amateur vidiographers.

Apple has expanded its “Shot on iPhone” print ad campaign with a batch of videos showing off the kind of beautiful footage it’s possible to record using the latest iPhone.

Instead of calling in the pros to film spectacular sights, the ads focus on serendipitous slices of everyday life, such as a ladybug on a twig or a sparrow eating from a person’s hand. As with the “Shot on iPhone” print ads, the spots were crowdsourced from regular iPhone users.

And you know what? Considering that each one is just 15 seconds long (with five seconds being the Apple logo and the “Shot on iPhone 6” tagline), they’re actually pretty darn great!

You just knew that when Apple announced its new “Shot on iPhone” ad campaign — crowdsourced from the millions of photos shot by regular iPhone owners each year, and displayed on billboards and bus stops around the world — it wouldn’t take long for someone to parody it.

Well, that day has come, thanks to a Tumblr parody page called “Also Shot on an iPhone” which shows an array of oddball bathroom selfies and other images blown up to poster size and displayed around San Francisco by a pair of local guerrilla street artists.

The results are suitably hilarious.
