Apple Charger Trade-In Program Also Available In The U.K., Canada, Australia

Apple announced a new charge trade-in program earlier this month, which gives those with third-party iPhone, iPad, and iPod adapters the chance to take them in and swap them for official ones at a special price. At first, it seemed the program was only available to customers in the U.S. and China, but that’s not the case.

According to a new support document on Apple’s website, those in the U.K., Canada, Australia, Japan, and parts of Europe can also take advantage of the offer.

The iPad 4’s 12W Power Adapter Will Charge Your iPad 30-45 Minutes Faster [Video]

The iPad 3 took forever to charge when it first came out, thanks to the gigantic battery that powers the new Retina display. Now that Apple has updated to the iPad 4, they’ve also come out with a new 12W power adapter that gives us the power we need.

After running some tests on the new 12W power adapter next to the old 10W power adapter, Insanely Great Mac found that the new 12W power adapter will charge an iPad 3 or iPad 4 as much as 30-45 minutes faster.

It doesn’t sound like much, but every second counts when you’re slaughtering your foes on Letterpress. You can pick the new adapter up from the Apple Store for 19 bucks.

Apple Is Working On A New Power Adapter That Syncs-And-Charges Macs And iOS Devices Simultaneously

A couple weeks ago, we posted about TwelveSix’s PlugBug, a cute little attachment that plugs into your standard MacBook MagSafe charger and gives it a 10W USB port, perfect for charging your MacBook and iPad simultaneously.

The PlugBug’s an ingenious little idea, and I’m reviewing one now. However, PlugBug’s days might be numbered: a new patent says that Apple is working on a universal power adapter that can charge MacBook Pros, iPhones and iPads, all at the same time.
