Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is ready to kick off and Cult of Mac will be here ready to liveblog all the action and glory as it happens.
We’re expected to get our first glimpses of the new and improved iOS 9 and OS X 10.11, both of which will supposedly feature a bunch of performance improvements, but could some major new features surprise us? Apple’s new music streaming service will also premiere at the event, and Apple Watch apps are about to get their own SDK.

In less than an hour, Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri will reveal whether iPhone 6 sales have continued to sail past Wall Street’s expectations. We’ll be on hand to liveblog all the action from the Q2 2015 Apple earnings call.
The results are expected to be monstrous, thanks to strong demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus carrying over from last quarter’s historic results. Wall Street is expecting Q2 2015 to be the second-biggest quarter in the history of Apple, with revenue believed to top $56 billion, for 23 percent year-over-year growth.
Apple only needs to sell more than 58.1 million iPhones to make it the second-biggest quarter ever, but what we’re most anxious to hear is whether Tim and Luca drop some Apple Watch numbers on us.

Apple is hosting a big media event today in San Fransisco for the hotly anticipated Apple Watch. It’s been about six months since the Watch was first shown off to world, but plenty of questions still need answering, like pricing beyond the $349 base model and when the wearable will go on sale. App demos should also be a big part of today’s presentation, because killer software will be instrumental in convincing people to buy an Apple Watch.
And who knows, there could always be some surprise Mac news.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Pacific, and Apple will provide a (hopefully working) live stream on its website. Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri are getting ready to announce Apple’s biggest earnings ever to investors this afternoon, and we’ll be on hand to liveblog all the action.
The results are expected to be historic, thanks to unprecedented demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in not only the US, but also China. Wall Street expects Apple to blow past its projected revenue of $63.5 billion to $66.5 billion and hit somewhere closer to an all-time high of $68 billion.
Analysts expect iPhone 6 sales to have topped more than 66 million, but Apple expert Ben Bajarin is predicting any number lower than 70 million would be a result of supply chain limitations, not demand. Mac sales are also expected to be strong, while the iPad remains the only wild card.

It’s been way too long since Apple showered us with new products like the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and Apple Watch, but Tim Cook and his crew are ready to go in for round two at a town hall keynote today at Apple HQ. New iPads, a Retina iMac and OS X Yosemite are rumored to be on the menu, but will Apple have one more surprise waiting for us?

Tim Cook and newly-apointed CFO Luca Maestri are getting ready for Apple’s Q3 2014 earnings call with investors. The call will reveal just how much cash the company raked in over the past three months and what they should expect later this year. We’ll be right here, liveblogging the whole thing.
Apple hasn’t released a new product this quarter, but investors on Wall Street are still bullish about the future of AAPL, sending the company’s stock price surging 26% since its last earnings report.
Whether Apple was able to beat expectations of $38.4 billion in revenue without an explosion of new sales will finally be known today at 2 p.m. Pacific, and we’ll be ready to dish out all the news and juicy tidbits Tim and the team tell investors.

CUPERTINO, Calif. — The Cult of Mac team is heading down to Cupertino to cover the special 30th anniversary celebration of the Mac, which promises to feature many of the original members of the Mac dev team.
Hit the jump for our liveblog of the evening’s events. We’ll start posting at about 5.30PM PST, about 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start.
The Mac 30th Anniversary Celebration is being held at Cupertino’s Flint Center; the same 2,400-seat venue where Steve Jobs first introduced the Mac on January 24, 1984.
It was organized by Steve Jobs’ old friend Daniel Kottke, and filmmaker Gabreal Franklin, an early Mac software developer who is making a video documentary about the era.
There will be music, unreleased photos and video, and a big group photo. The event will feature three panel discussions:
Conception — Daniel Kottke, Larry Tesler, Rod Holt, Jerry Manock, Marc LeBrun, and Bill Fernandez will talk about the origins of the Mac.
The Birth of the Mac — Bill Atkinson, Randy Wigginton, Andy Hertzfeld, Bruce Horn, George Crow and Caroline Rose will tell their first-hand stories about creating the Macintosh.
Coming of Age of Mac — 3rd party software developers including Charlie Jackson, Jim Rea, Heidi Roizen, Ty Roberts, David Bunnell, Marc Canter, Maryline Delbourg Delphis, Adam Hertz and Steve Jasik will talk about the software that gave the Mac critical mass.
During the evening, Apple’s original angel investor and 2nd CEO, Mike Markkula, will gather 100 members of the dev team on stage for a group photo.
If you’re in the area, tickets start at $109.75 each and are available via Ticketmaster. Yeah, it’s pricey, but after expenses, all proceeds will be donated to charity, organizers say.

In just a few hours, Apple will be hosting its Q2 2013 financial earnings call, and it’s bound to be an interesting call. It’s no secret that Wall Street is expecting a bloodbath, and is calling for Tim Cook’s head amongst fears of stagnating iPhone growth, but can Apple outperform the Street’s expectations?

At 7:30PM Eastern tonight at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Samsung is expected to unveil their newest flagship phone, the Galaxy SIV. This is going to be a heck of an event: not only is Samsung about to unveil the most important Android phone out there, but the Galaxy SIV is going to be the device most likely to challenge the iPhone 5 as the most popular smartphone out there. Apple knows this, and they’re clearly worried enough to be denouncing the Galaxy SIV before it’s even official.
In short, whether you love Android or you love Apple, this is a device you’re going to want to know all about, which is why we’ll be at Samsung’s event today, live-blogging the announcement from the scene.

It’s finally here. The event everyone’s waiting for. Tim Cook has just walked on stage at the Yerba Buena Center For The Arts in San Francisco, California to announce the iPhone 5.
What will the iPhone 5 be? Rumors peg it as wide screen, thinner, better battery, and LTE capable, along with a new Dock Connector called Lightning which is much smaller than previously.
What else is coming? The iPod Touch, new iPod nanos, new iPod shuffles, a new version of iTunes and the possibility of new iMacs and a 13-inch MacBook Pro.
We’ll know shortly. Now Tim Cook’s opening his mouth: “It’s an exciting time for Apple. An amazing time. An extarodinary time…”
San Jose, CA — Today’s session in the Apple-Samsung trial has begun and Judge Kho is ready to describe the jury instructions to the court and the large public gathered at a Federal courtroom. The judge estimates it may take her more than one hour to recite the full instructions, which run about 20 pages.
San Jose CA — Mani Srivastava, PhD Professor at UCLA department is now in court to bust another of Apple’s patents, this time the 460 (No. 7,577,460) U.S. patent. The claims of the patent describes the use of an email program that is allowed to send pictures from a phone, and to scroll through image galleries.
San Jose, CA — After the final financial expert testified on behalf of Samsung after lunch , the defense rested. However, the game is not over yet. There are plenty of follow up witnesses that will be around to fill out the information docket for the jury before they receive the case early next week.
