Apple apparently gives up owning its own flagship stores in India

Apple India seemingly can't open its own a flagship store like the one in NYC, so it's forced to turn to franchisees to do it.

It’s going to be years before Apple India can hope to open flagship retail stores. So the company is allowing local franchisees to open huge Apple stores in major cities to take their place.

India puts stringent requirements on companies who want to open retail stores, and so far Apple hasn’t met them.

Apple’s giant glass cube in New York City is about to come crashing down.

The iPhone-maker’s most iconic retail store is set for major renovations this year, and according to a new filing, the glass cube is scheduled to be dismantled and removed.

The new Apple Store coming soon to San Francisco appears to be making decent progress. Leo Cheng snapped a nice photo from Solano Labs across the street from the new location and tweeted it at us. The store still looks like a hot mess, but the workers are apparently working on the glass doors for the entrance in this picture. Take a look.

Apple’s latest flagship store in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal is set to finally open Friday at 9 AM. While we’ve seen multiple shots of the store’s covered exterior, and even a concept of what the interior will look like, we have yet to see Apple’s finished product on the inside.
