This week the Directors Guild of America and the Producers Guild of America recognized Apple TV+ content with a pile of award nominations — five in the DGA Awards and four in the PGA Awards, both set to take place in March.
Apple TV+ received nine nominations across six programs for the 27th Annual Critics Choice TV Awards. That includes Best Drama Series for For All Mankind, Best Comedy Series for Ted Lasso, and Best Movie Made for Television for Come From Away.
The winners will be announced in January.
Surprise broadway smash Come From Away been filmed and sent to Apple TV+. The 9/11 musical follows hard on the heels of the Hamilton concert movie on Disney+.
The question is, will Come From Away come close to the success of its predecessor?
The filmed version of the Tony-winning hit musical Come from Away will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on September 10. It will star a cast led by members of the Broadway show, and be directed by Christopher Ashley, who directed the original Broadway production.
