CBS All Access will get a new name: Paramount+

Question: What’s the best way to lessen customer confusion in the convoluted world of streaming video-on-demand services? Answer: Add another title with a “+” at the end of it, of course.

That’s exactly what the service formerly known as CBS All Access said it will do Tuesday, as the service changes its name to Paramount+, joining the list of plus-named competitors like Apple TV+ and Disney+.

Apple TV+ subscribers in the US can now also add a bundle of CBS All Access and Showtime for only $9.99 per month more. That’s less than half the usual price for these two streaming services.

Subscribers can watch content from all three services online and offline, ad-free and on demand, only on the Apple TV app.

The CBS All Access streaming service expanded Thursday, adding dozens of classic movies made by Paramount. Newly added titles include classic films like The Godfather series,Spider-Man and Roman Holiday.

Also appearing today are several Star Trek movies to go with the multiple Star Trek shows that are the highlights of CBS All Access. All of this content can be watched on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV.

You’ll be able to tune into CBS All Access on Apple TV Channels next week.

CBS has confirmed that support for Apple’s new service will be rolled out on Monday, July 29. It’s not yet clear how much it will cost for those who subscribe through the TV app, however.

CBS has been struggling to find stand-out content for its All Access streaming service beside Star Trek: Discovery. That problem has been solved.

The fourth generation Apple TV is set to start shipping next week and Apple just added three new channels to the device’s lineup to boost its offerings.
