Apple introduced a new global “Apple Community+” program Wednesday that Cupertino said will recognize and reward top contributors in the Apple Support Community.
The new program will provide “access to special perks, white-glove experiences, and more,” the company said.
Apple warns iPhone and iPad users that third-party keyboard apps can be granted network access without the user’s approval.
Apple has promised a fix in upcoming iOS and iPadOS updates.
Apple needs to go a long way before it thinks about launching its own search engine. Smartphones? Sure. Tablets? Absolutely. Search? Fuggetaboutit!
As much as we all love Apple, nobody can deny that its search products are oddly bargain basement in quality. iTunes discovery is horrible, the App Store is abysmal and Siri’s painful.

It’s not uncommon for new Macs to have issues that require a firmware upgrade down the line to fix, and it looks like that’s true of the new Haswell-boasting MacBook Airs, which are reportedly having a lot of problems with their new 802.11ac WiFi chips.
Users who are still running the iOS 3.1.3 software on their iPhones and iPod touches are reporting that a recent App Store update has blocked them from downloading new apps directly to their devices. The update was issued on December 16, and users have been unable to download new apps since, though they can still download updates to existing apps.
