The 2018 iPad Pro is a huge improvement over its predecessors. It also costs a heap of money. But there is a sneaky way to save a bit.

Or consider the the 9.7-inch iPad unveiled last spring. It already has a low price, which doesn’t mean its not about to go on sale for even less.

If you’re interested in snagging any 2018 Apple tablet, read on to see when we expect the biggest iPad discounts to show up.

A leaked product image goes a long way toward confirming that the 2018 iPad Pro is getting a significant redesign. Apple’s next tablet is shown in a folding case, but it’s clear that the bezels have shrunk and the Home button has disappeared, just as previous rumors indicated.

The image also clearly shows the front-facing sensors needed for Face ID.

The iPad mini was unveiled at an October event. Just like 2012, we're expecting another Apple press event this fall.

At its huge press event last month, Apple took the wraps off the iPhone XS, XR and Apple Watch Series 4. But we don’t think that’s everything the company is going to unveil this season.

Here are five good reasons why we think Apple will hold another press event in October to show us new tablets, laptops and desktops.

The September Apple event came and went without any mention of the iPad Pro models that had been the stars of so many rumors. But there’s still hope! Buried deep in the just-released iOS 12.1 beta 1 is a clear reference to an iPad on the docket for this fall.

So be patient. The redesigned tablets we’ve heard so much about could be coming soon.

Apple just unveiled new iPhones and Apple Watch models. But some other hotly-anticipated products were left out of today’s event.

No mention was made of the iPad Pro tablets that have been in so many rumors. And the AirPower wireless charging mat still doesn’t have a release date.

Here’s what we think we know about the 2018 iPad Pro lineup

Apple is about to make the most significant change to its iPad lineup since 2015. And you don’t have to wait to find out what’s coming because just about all the details have already leaked out.

From what we can tell, Apple is going to make its Pro tablets better by making them smaller. However, there are some odd changes that have many people worried.

2018 iPad Pro redesign is both brilliant and stupid

Apple appears poised to unveil the most significant redesign of the iPad in years. Renders of 2018’s iteration of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro have leaked out, showing that this model will include changes that will make it the best tablet Apple ever released.

It also includes some bone-headed design decisions that users will just have to deal with.

2018 iPad Pro could take another design cue from iPhone X

There's now evidence to back up the assumption that the redesign of the 2018 iPad Pro will include rounded corners on the display.

It’s looking increasingly likely that the new iPad Pro models coming this fall will look like super-size iPhone X devices. That means no Home button and a nearly-edge-to-edge display.

Everyone has been assuming that this means the corners of the screen will be rounded too, and now there’s evidence of that.

Apple R&D dumps billions into Cupertino’s secret projects

Apple’s spending on research and development of new products keeps growing. The company’s R&D spending  increased by hundreds of millions in the second quarter of this year, totaling more than ever before.

But where is all this money going? Some of its R&D projected are obvious, but others the company tries to keep secret.

2018 iPad Pro might make a change you’ll hate

By

Smaller bezels will reportedly be a highlight of the 2018 iPad Pro, but will that make up for a huge drawback?

The next-generation iPad Pro is going to have some nice improvements, like smaller screen bezels resulting in an edge-to-edge look.

But not every change is likely to go down well with fans. Apple is also supposedly going to remove the headphone jack, as it has done in its iPhone line. But that’s probably not the move that will draw the most criticism.

Samsung shows Apple what the 2018 iPad Pro should look like

Apple should follow the lead of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

A leaked image of an upcoming Android tablet from Samsung should catch the attention of Apple. It leaves off its large top and bottom screen bezels, something many potential iPad Pro buyers have been hoping for.

To accomplish its design change, the rumored Galaxy Tab S4 includes no home button. That’s also likely to be on Apple’s agenda.

2018 iPhone might come with USB-C fast charge adapter

Say goodbye to the 5W iPhone adapter and hello to much faster charging.

iPhone fast charging is possible with the 2017 models, but it’s a seriously underutilized feature because the devices don’t come with the right adapters. But Apple is reportedly going to ship the 2018 iPhone models with the adapter and cable needed to get a 100% charge much quicker.

It’s one of the puzzles of last year’s devices. They support USB-C fast charging, but come with USB-A adapters that take much longer.
