Apple has initially ordered 15 million iPhone 5 handsets from two manufacturers say reports. If correct, the first-month figure is about five times the number of iPhone 4 units the Cupertino, Calif. company sold during the same four-week period in 2010. Could the iPhone 5 be Apple’s first truly international launch, or merely the launch where supply is least lopsided compared to demand?

Don’t mess with Apple’s designs. That’s the message as the iPad and iPhone maker steps up its attacks on rival Samsung. As the two prepare to face off in court today, Apple has now amplified its verbiage, claiming that Samsung products “blatantly imitate” the iPhone and iPad’s sleek appearance. Earlier, the tech giant referred to Samsung as merely the “copyist.”

With iOS 5’s new Wireless Syncing functionality, the umbilical cord of your iPhone or iPad has finally dried up and fallen off… except when it needs power, when you have to plug it in to a wall socket.

But Apple’s serious about cutting the cord. Future iOS devices might be truly wireless, sucking in power as wirelessly as they will sync.

Uh, hey, see that right at the bottom of the slide showing what’s new in iOS 5? WiFi Syncing to iTunes! That’s one I was praying for, but didn’t actually think we’d see coming.

Others include new multitouch gestures and universal Dictionary support.

Apple’s just shown us ten new features of iOS 5. There’s 190 left. Unbelievable.

Devices iOS 5 will supprt are iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, iPad and iPad 2, iPod Touch 3rd Gen and Fourth Gen.

It’s coming this fall… right in time for the iPhone 5.

We don’t know about you, but personally we are more excited about the next version of iOS than we are the next version of  the iPhone. The iPhone 4 is fairly adequate and meets most of our needs, but iOS has a lot of room for improvement. WWDC 2011 is just around the corner and we know that Apple will be announcing iOS 5 there so here is a round-up of the current rumors surrounding the next version of iOS.
