Hey guys, Stephen Coulter-Mack here back with episode 5 of iSetups and this week we've
0:07
got 3 great submissions from Alex Castro, Jokim Jobakim and Morten Bieteler
0:12
So let's get started. First up is Alex Castro, with a great black and white contrasting setup
0:23
His computer of choice is a 13 inch 2015 MacBook Pro with a 2.7GHz i5 processor and
0:30
256GB of storage, which is hidden away behind that monitor on the right
0:35
Speaking of monitors, in the middle is a 27 inch AOC 1080p monitor, which I'm going to
0:40
take a guess is the i2777FQ and either side are two 24 inch Lenovo screens
0:47
Again I'm going to take a guess here and I think they are the 60F9MAR1US monitors
0:52
If I'm wrong Alex let me know in the comments down below, I'm trying to figure out these models from pictures
0:58
Also hidden behind the centre monitor is a Roku Express for all his streaming needs
1:02
Alex uses his setup for digital advertising and social media managing as well as casual
1:06
browsing and streaming Netflix. I love how he's got the two screens to float, I'm not sure what he's using for this but
1:12
it's a great way of keeping the desk free of monitor stands and leaving room for more tech
1:17
Plus he's cleverly hidden almost every single cable for a super clean look, with the exception
1:21
of the MacBook in the back. If you wanted to hide the MacBook cables, he should take a look at the Hengedocks vertical
1:26
dock I reviewed a few weeks ago, I think it'd be perfect for this setup and help hide those
1:30
MacBook wires whilst also being super easy to pick up and take on the move
1:34
For his speakers he's using the Bose Companion 20 speakers which I always love, he's also
1:38
using the Apple Magic Keyboard and wireless trackpad plus a Logitech MX Master Mouse
1:43
I'm guessing the trackpad is for general use whilst the MX Master Mouse is for when he's
1:47
editing photos and videos as it's much easier with a mouse in my opinion
1:51
Also in there you'll find the 9.7 inch iPad Pro in space grey, the Sennheiser 598 closed
1:56
back headphones as well as a pair of AKG K7XX open back headphones
2:01
Hidden underneath the desk is a Meridian Explorer 2 DAC and amp to help boost the audio quality
2:06
Overall this is a great setup and I'm really impressed at how Cablefree's managed to keep it, brilliant job
2:12
Next up is from Jopan Djabakin who's using his setup for video editing, design work and
2:17
some lightweight gaming. His computer is the 13 inch 2013 MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage
2:24
At the side of the MacBook Pro are 2 packed pixels monitors which I'd personally never
2:29
heard of. A quick google search tells me that they're portable 2048x1536 9.7 inch monitors that
2:36
clip onto the back of the MacBook and are powered through the USB ports
2:39
They're great to add extra screen real estate while on the move or in tight spaces at what
2:43
seems to be a steal of a price. The MacBook is sitting in a Voguec aluminium stand where you'll also find a 4TB Lacie Porsche
2:50
design hard drive for extra storage. Also at the top there you can see what appears to be a tiny Mac Pro tower but it's actually
2:57
a 3D printed hard drive case that Jokum designed and printed himself
3:01
Which is super cool, I can see a hell of a lot of people wanting one of these
3:05
Also in there you'll see a pair of Urban Ears Platinum wireless headphones and a desk mounted joystick
3:10
I love the comfortable feeling the office has and I can imagine it's a great relaxing
3:14
space to work in. Only thing I would say is to look at that cable management as I'm wondering where the
3:19
hell you put your feet. Joking aside though some of the previous episodes have some great tips for that so I'm not going
3:25
to rehash those. Great setup Jokum. Last but not least is from 14 year old Morten Bieteler from Norway who submitted his awesome
3:33
5K iMac setup. It's a late 2015 iMac which he uses for video and photo editing with the occasional viewing
3:40
of his favourite YouTube videos. To the right is his iPad Air 2 which is sitting in a custom wooden iPad stand that he made himself
3:48
Underneath the desk he's mounted all the extra peripherals and remotes he needs, there's a
3:52
6 port USB charging hub to charge up any of his devices and all the remotes for his LED lights
3:58
As well as cleverly hiding these under the desk his cable management is on point. He's taped all of the wires and plugs onto the back of the desk and used clips to guide
4:06
them and prevent them from dangling down. Also in the room there's a wall mounted TV and PS3 which again doesn't have a cable and sight
4:13
There's also a foosball table in there and a pair of very comfortable looking sofas
4:18
Everything you could ever need. My question is when do you ever need to leave
4:22
I think Morten's white setup looks great especially with the little elements of colour to help
4:26
break it up like the fake plants and posters. Plus your whole setup is a lot cleaner and slicker than mine was at 14 so nice job Morten
4:35
