Today, I'm going to show you how to create a shared collaborative Apple Music playlist
0:05
If you're going on a road trip, or planning a party, or any kind of themed event, you
0:09
and your friends can build a playlist together. Now, this feature does require iOS 17.3
0:17
Make sure you have that installed, and everybody who you want to collaborate with also needs
0:21
to update as well. Now, in Apple Music, here's how you set it up
0:25
You go to Playlists, New Playlist. I'm just going to type in Shared Playlist, Create
0:33
And you tap this People icon in the top. It'll say Invite People to Join
0:38
If you check Approve Collaborators, then you'll need to approve everybody who wants to join
0:42
the playlist. If you uncheck it, then anybody with the link can join and add songs to it
0:48
So I'll tap Start Collaborating. The share sheet will come up where you can invite people
0:53
I'm going to close that for now. You can also tap the People icon again, and tap QR Code
1:00
That'll bring up a QR code that anybody can use to join
1:03
Here's one I made earlier. Let me show you how it works
1:07
So you can just tap Add Music to search for music from your library, or search for songs
1:14
It'll also have suggested songs along the bottom. Just tap the plus to add any of them
1:20
On the Now Playing screen for any of these songs, you can react with an emoji to any
1:24
of them. Tap this button. You can pick any of these six. Or you can tap the plus and do any emoji at all
1:34
To edit the playlist, you tap the three dots on the top, tap Edit
1:39
You can drag to rearrange them, or tap the minus to delete them
1:44
If at any point you want to end the collaboration, you tap this button again, and you can swipe
1:49
left on anybody to remove them. Or you can tap Stop to end the shared playlist, and then it'll just be a normal one
1:55
Overall, it's a great feature. I recommend you check it out
