Grand Theft Auto III is the very reason I purchased a PlayStation 2 all those years ago, and even to this day it remains one of my favorite games. Imagine my delight, then, when I woke to find it in the Mac App Store this morning.

Priced at just $15, Grand Theft Auto III by Rockstar Games was the first in the franchise to arrive in full 3D back in 2001, with a combination of narrative driven and non-linear gameplay in a completely open environment.

“The hugely successful, highly controversial Grand Theft Auto franchise moves into three dimensions in the dark and seedy underworld of Liberty City.

“With the freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, intriguing and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips, if you have enough guts to take it.”

That’s as far as its description in the Mac App Store goes, but come on, you should know all about this game already. And if don’t, that’s even more of a reason for you to download this game.
