Evernote for iOS Gets A Great Update: New iPad Interface, Shared Notebooks and Rich Text Support

If you love Evernote as much as I do, this’ll delight you: a chunky update has just been released adding rich text support, shared notebooks, a redesigned UI for iPad and more.

For me, Shared Notebooks is the big star here, meaning I can finally share my Evernote recipe collection with my girlfriend painlessly. Shared notebooks are even stored locally.

Internally, though, Evernote seems to be placing a lot of stock on the new rich text support, which they describe in a blog post as “a doozy” to implement. Rich text support allows you to stylize text, add highlights and URL notes, create headers and even make lists.

In addition, there’s now a new slideshow view that allows you to skip through any images attached to a particular note and which can be saved to your local camera roll. The iPad’s UI has been redesigned, and premium Evernote users can now protect the app with a passcode.

A really nice update all around. You can grab it for free here.
