Apple’s much-anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC24) will kick off with a 10 a.m. Pacific keynote address on June 10, followed by the Platforms State of the Union address at 1 p.m. Pacific, Apple confirmed Tuesday. Along with the WWDC24 schedule information, it also presented the finalists for the Apple Design Awards it will bestow at the show.

As usual, the conference will highlight what’s new and upcoming with the company’s software ecosystem.

Apple shares WWDC24 schedule highlights

The WWDC24 Keynote, a highlight of the conference, is scheduled for June 10 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific, Apple said, confirming what we expected. The iPhone giant also listed the finalists in the Apple Design Awards. The awards add a new Spatial Computing category to the six other categories this year (Delight and Fun, Inclusivity, Innovation, Interaction, Social Impact, Visuals and Graphics).

During the Keynote presentation, Apple is expected to unveil the next generation of its operating systems, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, watchOS 11 and visionOS 2.

While hardware announcements are not expected, developers and users eagerly await the software updates that will enhance user experiences across the product lineup.

Platforms State of the Union

Following the Keynote, Apple will delve deeper into the latest advancements with the Platforms State of the Union at 1:00 p.m. Pacific. The session provides in-depth exploration of the new features and tools that will empower developers to create innovative applications.

The Apple Design Awards, a prestigious recognition of outstanding design and innovation, are also expected to take place on the same day as the Keynote.

Apple invites developers worldwide to tune in to the Keynote event through various live streaming platforms, including Apple’s website, the Apple Developer App, the Apple TV app and YouTube. The Platforms State of the Union will be available on the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website.

On-site audience

In addition to the virtual experience, a select group of developers has been invited to a viewing party at the iconic Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, where they will have the opportunity to witness the Keynote and the Platforms State of the Union in person.

Throughout the WWDC week, Apple will host online labs and consultations, providing developers with valuable insights and guidance on implementing the new features announced during the conference. Additionally, more than 100 technical sessions led by Apple’s engineers, designers and experts will offer in-depth knowledge and best practices.
