There’s just enough detail in this photo to go from.

How does Tim Cook customize his Apple Watch face? During his recent tour of India, people zoomed in on this picture of him meeting with developers to dissect his choice of watch face and complications.

I’ll break down Cook’s watch and show you how to download it yourself.

After all, the Apple Watch is celebrating eight years since its release on this very day in 2015. What better way to mark the occasion than with a celebratory new watch face?

Tim Cook’s Apple Watch face

As CEO of the world’s most valuable publicly traded company, Cook’s got a lot of things to keep track of. So he starts with the Infograph face, an analog face that fits up to eight complications. That’s the most of any Apple Watch face available.

Interestingly, he uses only half of the complications as informational; the other four are simply shortcuts to launching various apps.

On the left is the default Infograph face I think Tim used as a starting point. On the right is how he’s chosen to customize it.

Here are the Apple Watch complications currently used by Cook:

  • Top Left: Stocks. While there’s no way to pin a particular stock, whatever ticker you last had open will stay on the Apple Watch face. Unsurprisingly, Cook has been checking out $AAPL. I hear he’s a big fan.
  • Top Right: Temperature. The city of Cupertino, California, where Apple’s HQ is, enjoys a pretty stable climate. But hey, there are at least a dozen days of the year where you need a jacket or umbrella.
  • Bottom Left: Workout. This simply launches the Workout app, where you can start a workout with just one tap. Cook, as we recently learned, is very passionate about walking and being outside.
  • Bottom Right: Activity. In the photo, it’s about 11:30 and Cook doesn’t appear to have reached the halfway point of his goals yet. I’m sure he counts on getting a workout done in the afternoon or evening to close his rings.
  • Sub-dial Top: Your Schedule. This also overlays your next calendar event on the rim of the clock.
  • Sub-dial Left: Blood Oxygen. This is definitely an interesting choice. Does Cook really check his blood oxygen level more often than he opens apps like Music, Messages or Mail?
  • Sub-dial Right: ECG. OK, I have to wonder if he swapped out different complications for these ones ahead of the photo shoot. I know he’s in his 60s, but how often is he really taking an ECG? Especially while he’s traveling?
  • Sub-dial Bottom: Home. Cook’s Palo Alto condo looks unremarkable from the outside, but he previously described it as a HomeKit haven. He can give Siri his trademark “Good mooorniiing!” command to turn on lights and start brewing coffee.

I use a 41mm Apple Watch Series 7 and a Speidel Twist-O-Flex band, but Tim’s watch face works just as well.

Want to set up your Apple Watch just like the most powerful CEO in the world? You don’t have to set up Cook’s custom Apple Watch face by hand. You can download it by clicking this link.

You’ll get a pop-up that says, “This website is trying to download a face for Apple Watch.” Tap Allow, then tap Add to My Faces and you can check your wrist like you’re top dog at Apple.

While it works on any Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, an Apple Watch Ultra with a black Trail Loop will truly complete the look.

It’s a fun bit of trivia, but as I commented above, Cook’s Apple Watch setup is not very practical for most people. If you don’t live in a smart home, don’t have reason to pay close attention to your heart health and/or don’t own billions of dollars in Apple stock, most of the complications won’t mean much to you.

If anything, it’s a testament to how personal the Apple Watch experience is. You can deeply tailor it to your needs — that much has held steady for the last eight years.

An earlier version of this article misidentified the Sub-dial Top complication.
