If there’s one thing computer-setup fans on social media value above all else, it’s a “clean” workstation. The best ones — neither messy nor cluttered with cables — place everything just so. Today’s featured MacBook Pro setup does a nice job with that.

And it even hides the laptop as well as an iPad. See how fast you can spot them. One commenter noted it took longer than it should have.

‘Absurdly clean’ MacBook Pro setup hides the laptop and iPad

Redditor MarsMaher showcased the “absurdly clean” setup, as one commenter referred to it, in a post entitled, “Macbook for the day, PC for the night.”

“It took me way too long to find where the MacBook is,” a commenter said. “That’s slick.”

That’s because the MacBook is stowed in clamshell mode on a Jemache Under Desk Laptop Mount. You just slide it under the desk and run any cables out the back. The laptop and mount are slim enough to be easy to miss.

And it looks like he slips an iPad with Pencil in there on top of the laptop, too. That makes for a clean desk.

Mac and PC switching

“This is absurdly clean, do you just switch inputs through the monitor?” another commenter asked.

“Yeah, just a USB switch for peripherals and a DisplayPort switch,” Mars replied, though he said under further questioning his switch for swapping out the Mac and PC on the monitor is an unbranded one his brother gave him. He doesn’t know its brand but plans to update the post.

Another commenter suggested the Ugreen Bi-Directional HDMI Switcher in the meantime.

Ultra-wide curved display

“Is that a 5K widescreen?” a commenter asked. “If so, how are you liking it?”

But it is not so. Instead it’s a an ultra-wide 34-inch Alienware QHD display with a 21:9 aspect ratio,  3440 x 1440 pixel resolution (sub-4K) and a snappy 120Hz refresh rate.

But, despite the screen not coming close to 5K, Mars said he has no complaints about how things like text look on the screen.

Sleek, well-mounted Kanto speakers with subwoofer

As another commenter noted, Mars also sports a great audio setup for in-room sound. He mounts his 200-watt Kanto YU6 powered speakers with remote control on 6-inch stands on either side of the display. And he angles them toward his head for killer near-field sound.

And that’s not all. For lots of low end in the mix — and maybe shaking walls — a 300-watt Kanto Sub 8 subwoofer sits on the floor under the desk across from the custom PC.
