It looks like a software update might soon bring Apple Music to Tesla vehicles’ built-in systems at long last. And this modern possibility comes to us from, of all places, a museum exhibit.
Folks spotted Apple Music integrated with Tesla prototype vehicles on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and the tweets followed.

Unlike many makes of car, where you can use Apple Music via Apple CarPlay on your device to play it over the vehicle’s sound system, Tesla limits you to what’s integrated with its own system. There is a CarPlay hack, however.
Tesla has integrated Spotify and Tidal, as Electrek points out, but drivers of the EVs have been waiting a long time for Apple Music to be added. Now it could happen. As Aaron Cash tweeted with the image above from the Petersen Museum, “Apple Music confirmed?” Another tweet of his soon followed, showing a screen full of code: “Managed to crash the UI,” he said.
Now that it’s showing up in a museum exhibit of Tesla prototypes, includes a Cybertruck, a Roadster and a Model S, the speculation is that Tesla owners at large will soon have it.
That could take place with Tesla’s usual holiday update, which could roll out in late November or early December, the Not a Tesla App blog said.
