A man driving a black SUV crashed through the glass facade of an Apple Store near Boston on Monday morning, killing one person and injuring 19, including four critically, according to reports.

Updates: The driver, identified as 53-year-old Bradley Rein, was arrested Monday night and charged with reckless homicide by motor vehicle, according to Boston.com. The number of injured in the crash rose to 19 from the initially reported 16. Rein pleaded not guilty on Tuesday and said his foot had become stuck to the accerlator, causing the crash. He was held on $100,000 bail.

Kevin Bradley, a 65-year-old from New Jersey who Apple said was “supporting recent construction at the store,” was killed in the crash.

A 2019 Toyota 4Runner driven by Rein plunged through the glass front of the Apple Derby Street location around 10:45 a.m. Monday in the Hingham Derby Street Shops in Hingham, Massachusetts, authorities said.

The vehicle pinned some people at the back of the store, reports indicated. One person died and 19 were transported to local hospitals with injuries, including four people in critical condition, according to early reports by ABC affiliated WCVB and CBS affiliate WCBS.

According to WCVB, a fire marshall on the scene said “the video suggests this was intentional.”

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said the incident is under “active criminal investigation,” The Patriot Ledger reported. It identified the vehicle as a Toyota 4Runner traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.

“Right now, family members are being notified or in the process of being notified,” Cruz said in a media briefing. “This morning was an unthinkable morning, and people are trying to process what happened. … This investigation is active and ongoing, and we are very limited as to what we can say at this point.”
