A leaker with a pretty good track record for accuracy said Sunday the upcoming iPhone 15 series will feature rounded corners and edges, plus a titanium case. Rounded corners would harken way back to earlier iPhones and a titanium case would be a first for Apple handsets.

The rumors came from ShrimpApplePro, who gets it right a fair amount of the time when predicting what Apple will do.

Upcoming iPhone 15 series could have rounded corners and a titanium case

ShrimpApplePro (@VNChocoTaco on Twitter) made the comments Sunday in a tweet.

“From the early information that I have, the iPhone 15 will feature a new border design,” he said. “The back edge corner will be rounded and not square anymore. The material also will be titanium.”

“Still very early to take it as it is,” he added, apparently suggesting we take this information with a grain of salt, so to speak. Then in a subsequent tweet he added that all the edges will be rounded.

In a further reply to his own tweet, ShrimpApplePro noted how the iPhone 5C had rounded edges on the back, and perhaps the iPhone 15 will be similar to that.

Given that Apple uses square-edged designs on so many products, from iPhones to iPads to MacBooks, a rounded or partly rounded design would be a significant change.

And while a switch to titanium material would be interesting, it’s not hard to imagine Apple limiting its use to the Pro models as a way to set them apart from the base models.

Other recent predictions for iPhone 15 have suggested it will feature faster wired data transfer speeds, stick with Qualcomm’s 5G modem, add solid-state volume and power buttons, have dual front cameras and more storage, switch from Lighting to USB-C and feature Dynamic Island on all four models.
